Also tightened up and shortened the C-channel scroll:

Ok, I've gotta try that.   That looks great!

I think it looks much better and more hand friendly, I like it.

Frosty The Lucky.

I think the proportions of the overall size to the size of the stock works better too, especially on the lower section.

I haven't told the brewer yet, but I think the piece I cut off is big enough for another handle. I've got an idea for a design, so let's see how that works out....

Very nice! I like the folded scrolls a lot.

I was gifted a bunch of these fancy clamps so thought I would sacrifice one. 3-1/2” depth. Works great.

Did this in the style of a wrapped rose, though due to the size I was worried about splitting off each petal.  I have ideas for this

Clever folding of the clamp to create a stem for the hardy hole. My only concern here is that most clamps of this type that I've seen have some kind of plating on them, which as we all know should NOT be brought up to forging temperatures.

Horseshoe nails?

Yes, I'm gonna need a smaller hammer.  Maybe find a jewelers hammer.

Thanks John and yes,  I sanded a little off before I started and thought they were some kind of stainless.

I just looked at their website and yup, chrome plated. Not smart on my part, at least I had the forge in the open garage door and the cooler blowing at my back.

l should have known better and hope some one reading learns from it.

natkova, I think you’ve been hacked.

Or your enter key is stuck.

Frosty The Lucky.

It's could be internet connection , or I was too exited cause my first axe it is , and maybe I was hatcheted (I'd I build hack:huh:saw ) I would be hacked

I thought you had made six of them and forgot the other pictures.:D It looks good, sorta like a Viking fighting axe to me.

Still fits Nat, we hack stuff with hatchets too. ;)

I got all involved trying to think of something clever to say and completely forgot to compliment you on your hatchet / tomahawk/ or . . . ? I like a no nonsense tool better than something pretty. I like it a lot.

Took the piece of C-channel I’d cut off the oversized tap handle and made a tap handle.

We’ll see if the customer likes it. If not, I’ll make it into something else.

That one kinda looks like a mangled mess John, but that's not to say I don't think it looks cool. Do they serve Rail Bender there? Might be perfect for that beer.

Today in my portable shop I joined the PAABA in showing and demonstrating at the Local Ironworkers no.3 in Pittsburgh. Was a good time demonstrating and there was a bit of interest. Figured why not make another skull out of 3/4" to practice for my up coming demonstration at the PAABA chilli cook off meet. I am nervous about demonstrating for people that know their stuff lol, but I can do it. Will say I have an easier time when it is just random people around. I don't know why, just something with the old social anxiety thing. Maybe something to do with everyone will be paying attention to what I'm doing and saying instead of a couple random people.

Anyway, I think it turned out ok. Still have time to work on defining more.

I think it's not just ok, but the best yet. You're getting really good at a lot of stuff.

If it chop like axe, look like axe its axe. :D

Nice skull, Das.

It’s better in person.

Thanks Gewoon, Irondragon. Funny for the limited time I usually have to light the forge.

I am thinking about a few more punches to make to help define it. One is going to be for the nose, a couple more Fullering punches and I'm thinking of one to try to add a lower jaw line. These are deffinately fun, and can be as simple or intricate as you want to go with it.

Thanks John. I didn't mean insult, just didn't word it the best.

No offense taken!

In other news, my friend sent me photos of the Azorean tiles in the frame I made him.

I’m really happy with this.

You should be John, it came out beautifully! I assume your friend's going to keep for a while. Probably be able to add A thousand dollars on the asking price when they sell the house.

Das, John's saying you should try harder to insult him next time.
