Hi end client something out of his horses shoes ?

Featured Replies

Have a high in client that owns a ranch and stables , has his prize Appaloosa horse , and wants me to make something out of the horseshoes .

What can I make out of about 10 or less of his shoes that would look nice in his office?

one shoe......business card holder.....more shoes, wall hanging coat rack with horse heads on the end of the shoe,.......even more shoes, wine rack

use one to make a letter opener and the others to make a letter rack?

This is going to be a hard one....

Don't know about an office but you could make some steak flippers  -

Notice there are left and right hand Steak Flippers. Just ask a subtle question, then there won't be an awkward moment.

I know there are a couple books about "What to make out of Horse Shoes". I don't have one but I have seen them.

I was going to suggest holders for mineral blocks for his horse's stall, but you are looking for something for his office.

How about:

- wall mounted coat rack.

- picture frame

- pen holder

- book ends

- folder holder

- in and out box

- foot stool

There is lots of horseshoe art out there.  I 've seen a "cowboy on a bucking horse" all out of 6 to 8 horseshoes.  You can make bookends, a boot scrapper, a horse,(if you are artistic), picture frames, coat or hat rack, or halter/bridle rack.  The list is endless.

I have seen a full size bucking bronc made out of horse shoes with rider, pretty amazing seeing this thing, took a moment to realize what it was made out of. None of this small time stuff like nicknacks for this guy, he went big.

The lettering for the name of his favourite horse.

A waste basket holder would showcase the horseshoes nicely and not take up additional room also the added weight would make it less likely to knock the basket over. Make sure to leave enough room the waste basket can lift in and out easily.

Lots of potential things, has the customer said what he'd like? Have you asked? There are so many things you might want to give him a list of ideas to stir his imagination. Or maybe not. Customer relations in the "make me a something" situation can be a PITA.

She gave me free reign. I don't know I'm still looking at pictures and stuff....

Have you seen her office? Maybe that would help you have an idea what would work with it.

Google 'horseshoe art' on the first page of the top site there is a nice 'office' sign and lots of other interesting creations. The top site is my site, I have no problem if you want to use any of the designs or ideas

I have made custom signs for people, horses, farms, barns, all from used horseshoes. 5 shoe coat racks are very popular because they are useful and sentimental. Book ends are good for the same reason.

Have fun and get creative.

I saw a really cool saguaro cactus one of our members had out in Aridzona. A standard cactus with the nails bent over for the needles. The Cross. Picture frames.

It was Symmetrical I thought it looked off but it's just the angle of the picture. It was a nice piece. I've sold 4 of them since then

If it is for the office a table lamp or tall floor light would look great.
