The threated one you made looks like the commercial ones you can buy. I have a collegue at work who uses one. He needs to hardstamp a lot (goes thru a couple of hardstamps yearly on mostly brass and steel plates) and since a workrelated accident (after stamping several plates with his proofmark and certificatenumber, he was tired and hit his thumb. The thumb was broken) his department made them mandatory. But those are some sort of plastic. Good for weight, can handle the hits, but in our application probably useless, because heatresistance will not be good.

Arkie there are also zirks that you don't push the greaser on, but you slide them on. very handy. No need to push and hope the greaser stays, but it hooks on. But i will look for an oil one. Need to mesure the threat and hopefull it is not a not-common-in-europ one.

Come over, I give you the tour. also had some time over and i opened my foege blower because irondragon pointed my to the greasenipple that should be a oilfilling. No rust on the cogs. A tiny bit of grease at the bottom and no oil. How much do i need to fill up? I have a drainplug, so till the plug? And every use a splash?

Some big dull and damaged woodsawblades. All rusted, carbide bits broken. Diameter 380mm i believe. But i think good steel. Ideal for making some gardentools out.

Re-organizing my workshop. It used to be fabwelded oriented and the forge + anvil i placed in the center area where i had the most place. But annoying to use my welding table and move around with some other projects. So finaly bit the bullet and draged the forge and anvil away. Moved the welding table to a completly new spot same with some machines and put the forge and anvil on its new place. Much better. Better access to my workbench and weldtable. More space around the anvil and my left arm can start regrowing its hair, because no longer to close to the forge. My vice has better access when forging or welding. Very happy. Now i need some coathooks and a toolrack for tongs (before no place to put it, would be or in the way or across the workarea). No pictures because, i didn't take any.

I saw some reviews on youtube in my feed. Not seen one. No idea if they are reviews or advertising. Looks clumsy in your hand. A spoolgun is almost unpracticly large in my opinion. But I'm only an hobbiest welding in a garage.

Beeswax if stored inside has the ease of burning away and costumers can apply their own finish with whatever they prefer. I know a commercial company that does that to their steel skillets and pots.

look in the bbq section. Sometimes there is a sale and sometimes people offer them second hands. Ask what they mainly coocked on their bbq so you like the smell when it is getting hot; Only buy the leather ones, all the rest skip! Beware of "leather" as well in the bbq section.

i have used a small piece of cranerail standing up. Make sure the support is good. I had a good one but the wood was dry-rotted so now it is all wobly and has lost all its weight. So it is jumping up and down. (i still need to make a new one but i choose to use my time forging and swearing to the wobble and not to making a new one) But it is a good anvil and still use it (i made a good fuller of the webbing and I grinded a nice small horn in it). The best way of finding anvils is to start using something as an anvil and be happy with it. Then you will start tripping over anvils
