  1. PFP Paul Ferdinand Peddinghaus - Gevelsberg, Northrhine Westphalia, Germany. This anvil was dropforged.
  2. I don't know your filing system, I only know mine. Willy
  3. Just heat it up and bend it (90°-180°). No need to cut it off, store it where it can't be found or weld it on again. Willy
  4. Exactly the speed of my most used hammer, ha ha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Fn36l_z3WY
  5. Just found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkSx8BUcQgY
  6. https://www.instructables.com/Wooden-Block-Plane-1/ spring steel is okay, a little bit more carbon, some carbides and less Si (usually) would improve
  7. If I am not in the right state of mind I break sawblades. After two broken sawblades I do at least half an hour of meditative knife sharpening. Ommm!
  8. A fretsaw works fine too. My finest sawblades have 25 teeth per cm and are only .22mm wide (and you can get even finer blades).
  9. I have seen them on many other japanese axes and hatches. Three to five lines. Reducing friction? I don't know.
  10. They are top shelf! I had the chance to see some of his works in Solingen (Messermachermesse) and at a meeting of some members of the "Messerforum" (Jens in Ostercappeln ~2005 - Daniel, you were there too). A silent admirer Willy

    Epoxies.

No, I'm not a member of that order. (And Epoxy might not be the best choice for that application.) Wlly

"UHU plus endfest 300" was always my choice and it worked well von me. But some years ago they changed the recipe. Now it ist not half as good as it was. But in their Professional Shop you can still buy the old recipe. Honi soit qui mal y pense. (I don't know, wether it is available in the US. I think it's more a german brand.) Willy
  14. Colt–Browning M1895? I like the design of your letter opener, Jerry. About 15 years ago I forged a kitchen knife with a similiar shape. Can't remember where it went, I'm getting older
  15. I had this lump of coal, and I like the saga of King Artur. So I forged Excoalibur.
  16. My answer is: I'm a blacksmith. A farrier is a shoemaker, an orthopedic schoemaker for horses. ...and all my attempts in forging swords end up like this:
  17. We had a cat that was not the best jumper. So we called her Kami. That works only in german. Cat in german is Katze. So KamiKatze. Willy
  18. Northern German Southern has a smooth transition between the round horn and the face. And the face is narrower.
