  1. My metalsmith forge has two burners. It has worked great for a year. Today, I could only get one burner to work. I think the burner jet is clogged. They use a pipe with a tiny hole in it. Does anyone know what size this tiny hole is or should be? Thanks Larry
  2. I figured the table as part of the horn. Is that what you call the cutting plate? It is 3" x 5". So the horn is actually a little over 12" I was born in Camden, AR. Left AR when I Joined the USAF. Retired after 20 years. My mom died so I moved back to AR to help my Dad. Now I run the network for the AR legislators. I practice blacksmithing to get away from the Virtual world :) Larry
  3. My 400 pounder Trenton has a 5 3/4" x 24" face and a 15" horn (39" long) it is 16" tall and had a 13" x 16" base. it has a 1 1/2" hardie hole
  4. Is the first picture how it is going to be constructed? How heaven is the hammer going to be? I've seen one similar in pictures, but can't figure how it works. One side of the spring is pulled down, which raises the other side of the spring/hammer?
  5. Nice find. No middle sway like my 1830ish mousehole. Cute dog! Larry
  6. Someone has a star 25-lb power hammer for sale. But it is in pieces and the frame has a broken part at the top. Is it something fixable if he has the broken part that goes to it?
  7. I can't find a model number on the punch. Anyone know where I should look on this thing? It's got a layer of thick paint that I need to strip. Maybe I can find it afterwards.
  8. Got these at an estate sale for a total of $31. A box of punches and other metal, 7 ball pein hammers and a twister of some kind, 40" x 30" sheet of 1/8" steel, 30" hoop of wrought iron - 3" wide and 3/8" thick, a Jensen-Whitney punch ($5!!!)
  9. Michigan huh? Well, that will be the last time I see something like that. I almost went a couple times, but felt it would cost more to fix it than I had. Larry
  10. I've talked myself out of it. I have enough money for a tire hammer and am waiting for a group in Arkansas or Missouri (or both) to have a build. I started looking at parts and prices and feel that I would rather be able to replace parts cheaper if the tire hammer needs parts. Thanks for the info though folks!
  11. Here is the hammer. He said the arms need some work and maybe bearings poured. Does $850 make this a good deal. He says it does run. I will check that tomorrow. Looking forward to this... I will ask about anyone having a tractor or something. Thanks Larry
  12. Ok, I have a lead on a 25# Little Giant. The man who is selling it has no way to load it into my pickup. Any idea as to how I can do it? Can I lay it on its side and use a 1-ton shop crane ? http://www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-capacity-foldable-shop-crane-93840.html Help?
  13. I agree! I got a 3 pound 9 ounce hammer and a 4 pounder from them. I haven't used the 4 pounder except for hitting a piece of hot metal a couple hits, but I can tell I'm gonna like it a lot :)
  14. I love the hammers. I have one and it really moves the metal. Hey, what is Chase's website? I was on it once and now can't find it. Thanks! Larry
  15. Easiest way to get it out of the truck? Drop it on a grassy area. Really fast to do, :)
  16. Beautiful! I have to get down to Brian's! I want some of those hammers :) I think I need to go to Mississippi on my vacation this year!
  17. Thanks, yeah they probably would melt e first time I used them. Yeah I may use them around the shop.
  18. My brother-in-law brought me these aluminum tongs. They seem to weigh less than a pound. Are they of any use for holding hot metal? Oh, he gave them to me. No charge.
  19. I bought that one. Should have bought it last week tho. I emailed them to relist it. This week there were more bidders. Dang it! 7 1/4" jaws. 140lbs
  20. 400 pounder I travelled 1200 miles to pick up. Serial number 186839. iPad won't load photos so I will try later.
