  1. Were about's are you Paradox? I used to live up that way.
  2. In today's market who knows, but before cable shows $750 for a rusty pile of junk was not out of line. I will say this in my opinion, to get the same amount of work done with a new home built hammer you will have to put some steel in it. They makes lots of noise but don't move metal like the commercial jobs did. But when they weigh less than one third of the old cast iron equivalents its not all that surprising. Something to figure into you cost comparisons.
  3. That may be the cleanest shop floor i have ever seen!
  4. If I ever get my big hammer set I plan on forging one
  5. I use the TSC anthracite as well. I lucked out and had an old pot I feel was designed for it. Its no more than one inch deep and shaped like a large oval. Like others have said it does not coke so the depth of a soft coal pot is a waste of fuel. I"m sure it will work but you will burn thru alot more fuel to get the heat zone high enough to lay stock across a deep pot. If you decide to use more anthracite in the future building a pot for it would save coal in the long run. Nice job on the forge, looks great.
  6. Interesting side note. It looks like shelving is not a priority over there. Pics I have seen from all the factories show all kinds of stuff setting on the floor. Nice to see they have a paint booth, looks like a nice clean operation.
  7. We are in a tool bubble, sell em if ya got em!
  8. Digging this up from the graveyard. How did the hammer turn out?
  9. Mark Krause, also known as the Hammer Whisperer would be a good guy to look up. He has a website and posts on instagram. He shows the insides of the hammers he works on, gives really good insight on the pros and cons of them.
  10. That's pretty much free as far as rigging goes. It usually starts at 3 grand. I'm guessing that was a screw press.
  11. Only options there with USA reps are Anyang or Say Mak
  12. Iron kiss was the opposite of self contained, it required a separate air compressor to operate. Only thing similar that's being produced I know of is Kens KZ100.
  13. That 250 pound little giant has made 10,000 hammers for him. Crazy part is the asking prices lately, not long ago you would have to work hard to get 5k out of a 250 LG. Maybe my big self contained is worth 50k now......... lol. With the prices on used mechanical what they are now, it makes these imported hammers look even more appealing to the hobbyist and pro alike.
  14. So many choices, I have heard of TZ Runfa, but not these guys. The striker hammers were made by Shazxi no2 or something like that if I remember correctly. Last I heard of those they were superior to Anyangs but the USA distributor did not work out.
  15. Yep, it has a number to the right of the inset I sent NJanvilman a message
