Hans Peot Shop Built Hammer
Reading thru my centaur catolog I saw a set of plans with above title. Anyone build or use a hammer made from these plans? Any comparisons to the clay spencer design?

Striking Vise
Finally made up and mounted a striking vise in my new shop I built. Basically I found a nice heavy 4.5" vise cheap that someone had cut the leg off :( . Had some disc bolt that made a perfect stub leg, so I did a heavy bevel and welded it up with 7018. Mounted is opposite my anvil on the same stump. Forged a staple for the leg. Im trying to think up a nice clamp for the jaws that will let me lay large stock across the anvil, clamp it then use sledge.

Small shop for $500
Thanks for the comments guys, finally got the place straightened up, great to have a shop again, even on a smaller scale! Heres a pic of my current setup. I need to figure out a better metal stock storage system and add some tin on top of my table.

Machete design
I have a 20" tramontina with that collins profile, they call it a BOLO. Cuts deep like a hatchet, no real loss of chopping power compared to the longer only loose reach. My favorite machete.

Small shop for $500
Forgot to add im living on a rental property, shed has to be moved when we move. One reason I kept it small and the fact I had such a small budget. I moved out of a 25x25 into this, real adjustment. My main concern was theft, have alot of money invested into my tools, and I was worried they might walk off.

Small shop for $500
I was shooting for a $300 budget but sprang for some pressure treat on the bottom to resist rot and new roofing. Came in just over $500 when completed. I built it similar to a barn so I can lift of the structure and attach anything to the walls with a simple nail etc. Long term plan is to convert it into a hunting cabin when I get a permanent shop built. I built a few add ons inside, small work bench and a hammer rack, currently installing a hood and stack. Man do they fill up fast!

Small shop for $500
Finally getting around to posting pics of the small shop I have been working on. Moved here in January so some days it was -20 below when I was working on the building! Rough Sawn wood is local mills "outs". Building is held together with coated exterior screws.

Thinking this is A&H....
I think that is a trenton, horn sure looks like one to me. The underside of the heel looks to clean for an arm/hammer. My take on it is thats its an early plated trenton with the plate milled down. I have seen several with the thin plates. My wild guess is they made a hard plate and were prone to chip.

Mexican cast anvils
Saw a similar anvil at an auction last fall. Tried to talk the local "collector" out of it but he went home with it for $600

304 pounds Plateless made around 1914 No ball bearings yet to test rebound Came from a shop in KY All I could find on it was came out of old tiimers shop, but due to size and the saftey green I figure some industrial shop before that Very good rebound, nice ring and durable. Has withstood my hammer control for several years :) 486 pounds Plateless made around 1920 No bearing to test rebound Some factory in New Hampshire, before that i dont know When I found anvil of this size, in this conditon by this fine maker, I went and got it Have yet to forge on it, picked it up and then moved across the state, looking foward to working it out I highly reccomend this maker to folks, I especially like the late plateless ones, very very durable anvils
