  1. Small pein (Paul) is a new member and has suffered a stroke. Unsure of it's severity but still in need of prayers. He was going to come over Sat morning and do some forging but his wife called fri and told us of his stroke. Please keep them both in your prayers. Mark <><
  2. Thanks for the updates. Know that you both are still in our prayers till all is well. Mark <><
  3. Eric and Kathy, You and your family are in my prayers. Mark <><
  4. I spoke with Danny, Old N Rusty, this afternoon. He is doing well and still in the hospital. He will be given radiation treatments and be put on a chemo pill while at home. The rumor that he is going to sell his shop is not true. He has no intentions of selling his business. He said that he has iron in his blood and will keep on blacksmithing. Keep Danny and Eileen in your prayers. Mark <><
  5. Your first cross is off to a good start. While the wire may be a bit much in the eyes of some, others may like it. Since you made it, it is up to you to determine if it is too cheesy or not but criticism from others is what makes us better at whatever we do. The more you make the better you will get and remember time is of no importance unless you are under a deadline. Personally, I would lose the wire. The way I like a cross is not one that has perfect lines. It was an old rugged cross that started it all. Mark <><
  6. Get it. Then when you hear of someone that really needs an anvil, you will have one to let them borrow, buy or receive as a gift. Or you just might find that you have a need for it. Either way you will have one when you "need" one. There are a lot of young and not so young beginning blacksmiths/bladesmiths that are always looking for one. Mark <><
  7. Hope I never get slapped by you! Very nice computer weight!
  8. Nice to get back at it. I really like the heart hook. Hope you get some more time at the forge.
  9. Our thanks for your service. Prayers for your future.
  10. Thank for all your prayers. God is Good! The surgery was complicated but a great success. I just got her home this morning and she is resting nicely. Mark <><

    golden cross

Beautiful cross. Very nicely done. Mark <><
  12. I lift up my wife Patty again for prayer. She has been battling cancer since 2003. This however is not cancer related. Tomorrow at noon she will undergo surgery to remove an aracnoid cyst from her spinal cord. I ask for your prayers as we go thru this. She will be in the hospital for @ a week and then Lord willing, home where I will care for her. Mark <><
  13. Welcome from the coast of NC! It's not the end of the earth, but on a quiet night you can hear things fall off. Glad to meet you. Mark.

    Anvil

Nice! Looks like a nice sturdy stand too. Good for you.
  15. Nice design. I like the handle. Mine goes through the hardie hole and hooks to a board that I step on like Neil's. I can apply more pressure as needed.
  16. Bees wax for most items for me. Paint for others, Lacquer for others. It depends on what the use is. Too many options. If you give specific uses that may help to narrow down the answers.
  17. Really nice idea. Looks like it will hold nice and tight.
  18. That was a great video, thanks Timothy. I love to see how people from other countries black/bladesmith. When we start whining about not having the right equipment or building, its good to see how others make do with so little. Humbling. Mark <><
