June 22, 20178 yr That's great! Like the retro style bulb too. And the title - I was expecting a flashlight or one of those railroad style lanterns. LOL
June 23, 20178 yr Author Thanks. Was going for the creepy crypt keeper hand look. Thinking possibilities of use are endless.
June 23, 20178 yr Wonderful forging. Great idea. I'm sure someone will point out that you might want to consider a sleeve of some type to cover the wire connections. Al
June 23, 20178 yr Author Yes. Thanks. Just a concept at this point. I will bring some stuff home from work to shrink wrap the connections. Right now I've just got them insulated with hot glue. I would bond the frame if I am to give as gift /sell etc.
June 23, 20178 yr Pardon my rather sketchy drawing, but if you needed something to protect the bulb (probably too obvious), you could go with a spider web kind of look.
June 23, 20178 yr How did you run the wiring up through the hand? This project has my head spinning with ideas.

June 23, 20178 yr Author I drilled from the back at an angle. Ran the wires through the chase like the web look
June 23, 20178 yr That is creepy cool alright! I declare a "winner winner moose steak dinner!" level of excellent mental image to cold steel success. The back of the hand and arm have some great texture and details. You've got my head cooking with ideas some sort of goofy like having to shake a hand like this to make the door bell work. Thanks for sharing the pics and idea with us, this is one of the things that make Iforge such a great place to hang out. Frosty The Lucky.

June 23, 20178 yr Author Thanks. Starting on 2nd version to hold up my shop sign. A little bigger and more abstract thumb is roughed in at this point
