JHCC
In the purely utilitarian department, I wanted a bunch of heavy wire (from an election sign) S-hooks for hanging Christmas lights off the edge of my gutters. Improvised a bending fork with a pair of pliers and a C-clamp, bent the wire cold into a long sinuous curve, nicked each separation with a cold chisel, and used the same fork to snap off the hooks. Quick and dirty, fast and fun.

ThomasPowers
Probably lost in the great picture debacle; but there was once a picture of a hammer dressed in dolls clothes here...

C-1ToolSteel
What are you using for an anvil omegabrock? Just curious.
omegabrock
An old fork lift tine. It was available. I'd like to get something better, but not sure when I'll be able to.

Mark Ling
I really like the double curl you did on the end of the hook. Adds a lot, I may have to do that some of mine if you don't mind. Littleblacksmith
Zeroclick
So this is my first ever hook. It is out of 12mm x 15mm, it was meant to have a heart at the top however I managed to burn the heart in the last heat.
ThomasPowers
Yup as you get tireder and the work gets smaller and the fire may be uneven due to clinker it's easy to mess up in the final stages. I try to teach students that they should *STOP* before they make the uncorrectable mistake and finish another time, and recognizing that that mistake is getting close is part of experience. Zeroclick
Yeh it was a clinker I hadn't noticed and put the tine too close and when I pulled out the metal I had lost it all. So just adjusted and so that I now a new hook for the workshop and I will try the heart hook again tomorrow.
