andy ebbers
Yep, I cannot get the links to open either. THANKS you guys, sounds like it will be some great information once I figure out how to access the sites. I am NOT a good pc operator, please bear with me. Ratel10mm
I understand that the PDF in question has now been printed as a book, so the free PDF versions have all been removed from the web. Apparently the book has a bit of new research stuff not in the PDF, but like many of these specialist books, it costs a small fortune. Wade
The link worked just fine for me. You can still download the file.

David Einhorn
I found the book on knife sharpening mentioned above by searching on Google at the URL:http://www.bushcraftuk.com/downloads/pdf/knifeshexps.pdf The amazing thing about the Internet is that most stuff is not really erased, because of: 1) People or groups that document the "history" of the Internet maintain searchable snapshots of Web pages. 2) People tend to post copies of stuff that they find interesting and/or useful. With that in mind, I always advise people to never post anything to the Internet that they would regret later in life because whatever they post is likely to be on someone's "history of the Internet" server, for a long time, perhaps forever. Very interesting books, thank you for telling us about them. Edited November 24, 2008 by UnicornForge
Woody
A while back I posted this link and it got made into a sticky, but with the updates it seems to have been dropped so I thought I would post it again. It is very useful information and will help to dispell some of the myths, alchemy and mis-information that abounds in knifemaking circles. http://www.feine-klingen.de/PDFs/verhoeven.pdf
Steve Sells
Great link Woody. I though it was no longer available free since the contract signed, and its selling for $95 now, so I strongly advise getting this downloaded while we still can for free.
