  1. If you get the PW you'll never have to buy another anvil. If you get a 77#er you will eventually want a heavier one. Since you have two of that model firearm and zero anvils I think I would rather have one model of the firearm and an anvil I'll never have to replace. Pnut
  2. Picker77, did you put a coat of plistix or other IR reflective coating on the interior or does it even need it? It seems like it couldn't hurt. Pnut
  3. I work at a hotel and in the last year about three or four different railroad maintenance crews have stayed there. They were from at least two and possibly three different companies contracted by the RR to maintain the same main line in different locations. I don't recall the names of any of the companies though. Pnut
  4. Have you tried soaking in a solvent mixed with a penetrating oil? ATF and acetone comes to mind and try moving them every day or so. BGD's suggestion about the ultrasonic cleaner is a good idea. I'd put the ATF acetone mix in it and let it run for a few hours at least. The only problem might be covering the parts completely because most of them are for jewelry so tend to be on the smaller side. Pnut
  5. Ditto. Plus I'd much rather move the bandsaw. Truth be told I'd keep them both. I'd just push the bandsaw as far back into a corner of the shop as possible, because it's the easiest to move. If I had to get rid of one since I don't have any way to move the cold saw except by hand the bandsaw would be finding a new home. Pnut
  6. Maybe there's a member nearby that can come set up the jabod for you so all you have to do is light it up and get to forging. Unfortunately I'm in northern Kentucky or I'd be more than happy to do it. You'll be in my thoughts. Keep up the fight. Pnut
  7. Thanks. I've looked at the DB website a few times. The thing that I was curious about was they said they're forges were lined with " lightweight refractory" which I thought would be ceramic fiber board but you never can tell. Light weight refractory is a pretty vague term. I appreciate the link. I guess I should have just asked Picker77 did it come lined with ceramic fiber board? Pnut
  8. There's big red cockroaches that fly in Cincinnati/northern KY. No need to go any further south. Pnut
  9. They've tried to reproduce this in controlled environments with modern insects and they reach a point of diminishing returns. They did grow some big cockroaches and fleas though. The only Raid these bugs feared was a SEAL team raid. Pnut
  10. My guess was that he didn't want help just free advertising since I couldn't decipher a coherent question from the post. Pnut
  11. Undercover advertising. If I had to guess. Pnut
  12. Very true. It doesn't take much horizontal force to collapse a side and make it fold up. Pnut
  13. A few thousand degrees? What's the decrease in the temp from a few thousand degrees? A couple hundred over a handful of hours. Really? Pnut
  14. Woodworker Roy Underhill says to blacksmith Peter Ross, " You have the most exciting job in woodworking, not working with wood, but making the tools for woodworkers.
  15. I've been considering the single burner blacksmith forge. Let us know how it goes and if there's any issues after a while in use. I like the idea of a turn key forge and burner. I don't have a lot of time to spare so this could solve the problem. I'm especially interested in the longevity of the liner. pnut Picker I just noticed this is in a t burner thread. Maybe you could start a new thread after you've used the DB forge for a while.
  16. Absolutely. I used to have an assembly company and Walmart was my main customer. Not only do things change day to day the stores vary between each other. I spoke to the manager of the home and garden department but he may get different instructions from the store manager or an edict may be issued from on high in Bentonville. Who knows. The Walmart 15 miles away may have a clearance sale while the one a quarter of a mile away from me doesn't. I check every time I go in just in case. Pnu
  17. I was waiting for the charcoal at Walmart to go on clearance and since it still hasn't I asked about it and was told it won't be going on clearance. They stock it year round so they only have regular promotional sales and not clearance sales meant to sell the remaining stock. It may be different in your location. Pnut
  18. It's straw, I don't know why I said hay. I found some closed cell expanded foam thats about three inches thick that I'm going to replace the straw with. The foam is waterproof. It's split into thinner sheets and used for the running boards on jet skis. Pnut
  19. I don't think I will ever have a need to worry about it. Iprimarily wanted to know if it was hokum or not. I have heard of this being done for years and It only cost me the price of postage. I have a friend who is a notary. I appreciate the insight. Pnut
  20. That's what I was hoping to achieve by having it notarized and sent through registered mail and not opening it. Thanks for the help. I may look in it further. Pnut
  21. That's why I asked. I knew there's some actual attorneys that are members and I have heard this called the poor man's copyright but wasn't sure how accurate the info was or if it would work in relation to trademark. It may cover the logo art but I'm not sure about that either. Pnut
  22. Lurch, Stagger, and Fall Attorneys at Law are my go to legal counsel. Pnut
  23. If that doesn't work there's always the Milgram experiment.. Pnut
