Also sometimes like in my case, I just don't have an answer. So better not to say anything.

My power hammer is a very old Star 30 pounder. When the temperature gets below freezing, to be honest I'm afraid the cast iron die sow block would fracture, with as hard as it hits. It may have too much oil in it,if your friend "filled it up". If I renumber right they only get enough oil for the lower gear to run in it which then uses a splash system to oil the other gears and bearings. I like chainsaw bar oil with a little STP added. I haven't logged on in a couple of days and this news is devastating. I am going into the Celtic garden to ring the anvil to ask for comfort be sent to Deb and family. She left this world as she always said she wanted to do in her own bed and not in some hospital. She had Debi and her other daughter Joanne at her side and passed in her sleep. The staff at the assisted living facility have been wonderful to her in the 5 years she lived there. Debi said her last words were in Spanish to Debi's grandmother who passed on years ago. Welcome from the Ozark mountains. Most farrier anvils I've seen have the clip by the horn. Arm & Hammer's have power hammer marks under the heel, missing here. I'm thinking Trenton but that's a wild guess. Trenton's usually have the serial number & weight on the front feet. Should be a good user if it passes the ring & rebound test. I fired up the coal forge, first time in a couple of months. Our up coming BOA meeting on Saturday next the 13th has a piece of metal jewelry for a trade item. I remembered a nice bracelet that JHCC made out of a CV Joint bearing cage a while back. At least I think it was JHCC so here is what I made for the trade item. I can’t control the wind. Welcome from the Ozark mountains The Jet anvil was made in Japan and they were not very good anvils as far as I know. This is one thread about them.
