  1. I have three of Brent's hammers and love them all. Great quality and workmanship. I have a Brazeal style on order and hope it is as useable as Brent's. Dave
  2. You fellas are doing some amazing work! Dave
  3. I sifted the medium and that cured 90% of the problem. Will leave a light bulb burning in the blast cabinet for a few nights, and that should resolve my issue. Thanks again to all- Dave
  4. Thanks to all for the help. I emptied the media tonight and have new media in front of the shop stove to remove and damp stuff. Will sift it and reload tomorrow and let everyone know if that did it. Thanks again, Dave
  5. My sandblaster [cabinet model] has stopped working properly. The only way it will do anything except blow air is if I cover the nozzle and give it a little air for a second. Then it will work for a few seconds but even then it pulses, spitting instead of a smooth flow. It stops blowing sand within a minute or so. I took off the tip to clean it but it was not plugged. I reversed the tip and that did not help. I made more holes in the pickup tube and that didn't help. I taped the end of the pickup tube off, and that didn't help. I swapped the pickup tube end for end and that didn't help . Every time I pull the pickup tube from the sand the tube is full. I took some sand out and that didn't help. I added more sand and that didn't help. I replaced the factory gun a couple years ago and it has worked just fine since then. I have been very pleased with it until today. The only other thing I can think to try is empty the cabinet completely and refill with new media. Thanks, Dave

  8. You did a terrific job with your interim anvil! Hard to imagine doing that with just the tools you used. Now do something fun with it :) Dave
  9. I just got my horizontal and versicle bicks- very well made and have used both. Quality tools. Dave

  11. That is very fine work with the extra effort worth the time. Fine job! Dave
  12. I was just interested in seeing some more of their work. We are far enough apart that I don't expect to visit them :) Hammers are my main tool- you can get by with a pretty bad anvil and a junk forge and just vice grips or a pair of pliers and still do some good work- if the hammer doesn't fit it makes even the simplest job not very enjoyable. Glad you guys are able to get together and make some good hammers. Dave
  13. I could not find a web site for them???? Dave
  14. I found some round 1" brass pieces on ebay. They stamp well cold. Might take a look- Dave

  18. Muratic Acid, equal part with water, Use cold. 2 hours and the scale rubs off with your hands. Do NOT store or use it in your shop [all your tools will rust badly]. Keeps for a long time. Courtesy of Bill C. Dave
  19. Very nice work! Dave

  23. I am a fairly new mig welder and am having problems using the magnetic welding clamps. They seem to interfere with the welding process- almost like unhooking the ground connection. A good bead and settings, weld a little, good quality, then add the magnetic clamps and it all turns to crap, spitting, popping and the bead all forms on one piece of metal with none sticking to the other piece being welded. The side with the bead can easily be knocked off. What am I missing here? Can't use the mag clams with mig or ??? Thanks, Dave
