  1. OK, so it is a smoke dragon, but it Started as a fire... Robert Taylor
  2. I love this guy. And yes, he has a humongous machine / fabrication shop. And yes that vise is over the top, but he uses it to good effect on some subsequent videos... Robert Taylor
  3. Was just installing some square washers a couple of days ago. The more coffee I drink, the more that will seem like a bad idea... TW, i can go for that! Robert Taylor
  4. I am delighting in every word of this thread. Applies directly to what I am currently working through... Thanks! Robert Taylor
  5. I was out on a fence job today, running my pawn shop Milwaukee portaband off my gen set. My ex boss is going to try to keep me from using it tomorrow. He seems to think it is too fancy to bring to the job. This will be interesting... Love my portaband. If you come across a Milwaukee with rotten tires, there are plenty of new ones (tires) online. Be careful, new old stock will rot on the shelf. Robert Taylor
  6. Daswulf, odds on, a tube flare. Robert Taylor
  7. My back. Seems I have to put it into everything these days. Don't get me wrong, I rig and lever all the time. But the rigging does not rig itself, and the levers leverage nothing without my horsepower. Every spare minute finds me at the flypress! Robert Taylor
  8. Excellent. That speed makes it quite suitable for your application...
  9. May memories of your teacher always console you. Wow, John. This year, I have been intensly interested in reconnecting with my first Sensai from 1976, mostly to thank him for the path he illuminated. That path has helped me moving forward with a TBI, broken skull, knees, and spinal column injury, but mostly to help me stay out of saloon fights. This is directly related to being grounded in the fundamentals... Robert Taylor
  10. Fangs, I do not know of any 3k rpm Dremels. 30k single speed, yes. Please check that number? Thanks, makes a critical difference with engraving... Robert Taylor
  11. As said above: Wow Dharris! Had a 157 pounder fall on me a while back, albeit less dramatically. Take care and heal well. Robert Taylor
  12. Congratulations, Thomas Powers! Robert Taylor
  13. Lovely. Si Bronze has been on my list for some time. Your post is very encouraging... Robert Taylor
  14. You did all you could. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and all who now must go on. Robert and Sheila Taylor
  15. Yes, but it appears too me, that Inconel 718 is a nickel iron chromium, in that order of percentage, alloy. There are other nickel chromium alloys, such as Inconel 617. I have not fully vetted my citation, but I will bet a ham sandwich on it. Point is, your choice would be VERY application specific... Robert Taylor
  16. Why do magnets work? I would like a simple answer, please... Robert Taylor
  17. That no longer even remotely looks like an LM104911. That aspect alone makes a tale worth telling! OK, I came across an image of an LM104911 with the stamping on the periphery, as opposed to the face - that is a bit easier to fathom... Robert Taylor
  18. Greetings from extreme Southwestern United States. Have lived two and a half years split between Hanau and Butzbach, late 1970's. Robert and Sheila Taylor
