  1. Good looking start. You can also order a scribe similar to TJs thru places like Jantz Supplies, handy little tools.
  2. please do! Am enjoying your WIP, as well as a peak into your shop. Always enjoy seeing what tools people use and how it's arrainged. Mitch
  3. Beautiful job! Love the handle choice and the fluting. Youre pw is fantastic. thanks for posting, great eye candy.
  4. Real nice size and shape. Would even make a great edc if you like fixed blade daily. Nice job.
  5. The micarta should be good because of the resin, but he may have to clean out the tubes.
  6. Small world! Thanks man, will do. keep the knives coming.
  7. Well at least you got your exercise with us! : ) combat arms are combat arms... all on the front. Anyway , nice knife! Don't want to derail ya'lls thread! Also just noticed TJ's another Okie! I gotta get on here mire often. Hope to see you guys some day at a Saltgrass event. Mitch
  8. Nice one, Bikecop. Looks like a good skinner, I like the deep finger grooves, that should provide good purchase even when bloody. Also appriciate the tapered tang. The user will have to make sure he cleans all the blood and bio stuff out of the hammer marks, but a good job.
  9. Nice job restoring T.J.! Whats not to like...I like the profile, blade length and new guard! Will be a good user now! Charles, are you going to do a new sheath now to match? That newly profiled blade would have been a real nice carry for us grunts back in the day... ( i think you said you where 11B also?) Anyway, nice score!
  10. Nice looking bunch of tools! Looks like a great time was had by all ( except the 'sharp test' wound :-))
  11. I love yhe shape of it, nice overall flow! For pins, maybe copper or a mosaic?? You can order them already made, some with copper, brass and ss. I know Jantz sells them. Also carbon fiber or black micarta could look great. look forward to what you choose.... Regards
  12. all above are good. I got a couple of sets from GS a couple of years ago, (picture attached) and they hold flat bar pretty good...never tried coil springs with them. I also have a set of Off Center v-tongs that work good, light weight compared to the GS.
  13. Absolutely stunning! Another beaut Chris! a "bit of scratching" indeed! Love the transition from the horn to the head. Fit and finishis spot on. Nice work! Mitch
  14. Awsome work, Cliffrat! Is it a frame handle construction? Nice choice of materials.
  15. looking good! thanks for the WIP. Then comes the sheath...
  16. nice one indeed! photo really shows off your craftmanship even more!
  17. looks like a rugged worker! Please don't think I'm being critical, but if you defined the plunge lines it would add a lot to a cleaner look. What wood for the handle?
  18. nice one, love that style! Are you going to do a sheath as well? One of those like KT does come to mind, rawhide type....but that stuff is tuff to work with
  19. Fantastic pattern! What Steve said...a couple more pics would not be a bad thing!
  20. Great looking knife! I also like the angle of the guard parallel with the ricasso. the wege wood looks very bog oak-esq, great choice.
  21. looks great! did you give it to your uncle yet? no doubt he will love it!
  22. Looking good! Look forward to the finished product.
  23. gabe, personal attacks don't help anyone. A quick google search and the albana-group listing shows 2 groups in NC, an ALBANA chapter and Falling Creek blacksmith guild. You may have to drive a little, but it's worth it to get the over the shoulder and hands on time. Plus usually some good feed! :o)
  24. sinp, You did not put where you are from. You can look up a blacksmith group in your area and join up, then you can get real time help and advise. Try looking up ABANA-chapter.com for a list of groups, plus a list here on ifi. Get togethers are alway a blast!
