  3. I used to think that this style of vise was really rare, but I have seen a couple on this site and i have one myself. I dont know who made them though or when.
  4. i havent heard of that name before but it is about 40 miles from where i live in upstate new york. located on the eastern end of lake ontario
  5. when ever we had a fire like the one shown, i always tried to talk the chief into letting it burn itself out. less mess to clean up. he never would. darn
  6. looks like the thing next to the clinch cutter is a rivet set. i beleive the gear looking thingies are to cut recesses in wood. looks like one has a pilot shank.
  7. the axle looking thing is indeed a wagon axle. cant tell what the other item is
  8. brother terry, check the list of associations at the end of the forums page. there should be something listed for northern wisc. . there are several members of this website that are in wisc and they may be able to help you. dont totally discount the farriers, they move steel when its hot also, you dont have to learn how to shoe a horse.

  10. Jerry The fish is 39 inches long and about 14 inches deep, top to bottom. To put the scales in scale it would be the size of a whale.,
  11. Here is a recent project that i completed before Christmas. My son asked me to make a fish out of horseshoes but i didn't like that idea too much. So this is what i came up with. It was a gift for a friend of his that really likes to fish. To say he was stunned by is an understatement as well. His kids flipped out. I was very happy how it all turned out.
  12. I have a 178 lb trenton that looks very much like this one, even to the sway back. sway back not a problem, as stated earlier, good for straightening long pieces. looks ok to me

  15. school of hard knocks is a great teacher if you can survive it. sounds like he did, barely. wonder if he learned anything
