  2. I pounded mine from an old crowbar. and had to weld on a collar to make it fit well, Works great with the odd redressing. Finnr

  4. According to my Dad who would fix anything that broke in any way he could. It was too cold to weld if you couldn't put down the stinger. That is if it froze to your hand. Finnr
  5. I use AC stick and a cheap nasty flux core wire welder. Finnr

  7. Taking up smithing added one more thing for me to scream at the TV about. I do medieval re enactment so I already was screaming about things being from the wrong time period etc/ Now I scream at the "smiths" too. Finnr

  12. that held an upsetting block the vise you have shots of looks to be a bolt heading vise. Woodsmith has one nearly identical to it that is complete. Check his gallery I think he has pictures of it up. Finnr

  16. I got started because I couldn't find decent blades for the work i was doing. At that time I was trapping (before PETA) and spent nearly all winter in the woods. A good knife is your very best friend. Finnr
  17. I would love to see what the bottom side of the heel looks like. It almost looks to me like the top plate was added on to the anvil. I could be wrong. I have been before. Finnr

  22. That is a very nice looking anvil. Where are those made? The only ne I have ever seen with feet like that was a photograph of a medieval piece. Finnr
