  6. I'm a woodworker and never use gorilla glue any more. It is fantastic for attaching dissimilar materials to each other. BUT, in a recent test in a major woodworking magazine it was shown to be poor for wood. Tite bond II or III are the way to go. Excellent glues. Finnr

  10. Since I don't work to super close tolerances a vernier is exactly right for me. If I do get into machine work though I guess I'll have to change my sloppy ways. LOL! Finnr
  11. Getting the spring isn't all that hard . The tough part is getting it re hardened and re tempered. That is best left to a spring shop. When i was checking into it I found that buying a new spring would be cheaper than having an old one reworked. If I buils a spring helve hammer I'll just leave the curve in the spring. Finnr
  12. That is a great looking knife. Hard to believe that it's a first try! Finnr

    Blowers

there are several blue prints on blowers. My first was the blower from a dead gas water heater. A bit of creative scrounging and you should easily find something that will work. Finnr

  24. I use three parts beeswax, two parts boiled linseed oil and two parts turps. Warm it slowly over an electric burner in a double boiler. I either paint it on black hot metal and then cook it a bit in the forge or apply a very thin coating with a rag. It is also a good wood finish. Finnr
