  1. Copper is considered a heavey metal and it builds up in the soil. It's not bad, used in moderation, but can kill beneficial organisms in the soil if used excessively. Serious abuse can lead to problems in humans. It's fine, for the most part but some people get carried away. Sulfur based fungicides are an alternative but don't work as well. Still silently following your progress, Jennifer...
  2. Thanks for the photos. It's a look into things that many of us may never see. I wonder if the entire factory and quarry are open to the public. I can imagine spending entire days there looking and asking questions. Aside from the aerial photo, the steps along the wall give great perspective to the size of the water wheel. Their own narrow guage rr shop!
  3. "Why do you sit there looking like an envelope without any address on it?" Mark Twain.
  4. Edit: Actually I have only posted 3 bad quality videos to youtube so I have nothing constructive to add and edited out my comment. Sorry for interupting....
  5. And yet you never see a barber that needs a cut, a thin butcher or a dentist with rotten teeth.
  6. Maybe save it for knee or hip replacement parts in the future. Machine your own....
  7. Good thing it didn't spit it back out at you. I worked in a packing house long ago and they had a grinder set up where floor workers could resharpen their own blades. Maintenance replaced the motor on it one day and wired it backwards. It had a buffing wheel on one side. I think we used it to straighten out the wire edge, it was a long time ago and someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a edge expert. It made them back razor sharp. Anyway, it dug into my knife and shot it out of my hands, over my shoulder and across the kill floor. In a split second.
  8. I never did get a SodaStream. Everytime I save up some money for one, I wind up blowing it down at the scrapyard..... I guess I'm saving money for the flea market on re-fills too....
  9. Bashing Barney, eh? I wonder if "Return to Sender" still works. I'll send that "coprolite" package back to you with the addition of something more undesirable. Threaten me, will you? I'm pretty tempted to put a link on here of him singing "I love you...."
  10. Thank you for the opportunity to be part. We all hope when we pass someone will have something good to say about us. Thomas topped that, by far. It was a lovely service.
  11. I was going to suggest carefully scoring it with a grinder disc and breaking it out in chunks, but have never tried something like that. Safety First!
  12. What dinosaur could you possibly not like? Herbivores? . I would say, Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, and maybe Kronosaurus (not really a dinosaur I suppose, but a good "snapper"). I'm not sure I trust your programming ability, I would hate to wake up in the middle of the night finding a cyborg squid stuck on my head, looking for a late night snack. An Orthoceras or Ammonite grabbers ?
  13. Could you ship it overnight please? Lol, just joking.
  14. Could I send you some 14 guage and you could do it for me? My chasing skills are not so good. It would be nice to have a complete unit with a comfort handle. How much would this cost? I would pay extra for a high tensile spring for some added "snap". Please respond quickly.
  15. There are a lot of fun machines out there....
  16. You do tend to crash harder when your inner voice is wrong. Nobody or anything else to blame.
  17. Here's a another place we visited. Clyde owned a antique and pottery store and in the back was a stage for the players. He has passed away, since. He was a kind man and spent some time talking to Mom about Nebraska. I took a little video while we were there of them warming up. A LOT of famous musicians played there over the years. They had good food....
  18. True. I suppose a heavey cast iron dino head on them wouldn't be much fun... . I might have to get me one of those dinosaur ones to chase a certain somebody around..... snap, snap...
  19. Those grabbers are cool. Thanks for posting photo's. I love homemade tools/stuff, the older the better. Still digging around for those baling wire grabbers. If they got lost moving I will be upset.
  20. I like the colors on the grasshopper Das. I painted a couple of my sculptues once and regreted it (never again.....) Just a personal choice. And I like the guitar too.
  21. Claws, magnets, suction cups, what will they think of next? How about adding toenail clippers? No more bending over.....
  22. Billy, I never heard of or have seen a wooden one. Very cool. My Grandpa made a simple pair of grabbers for lightweight stuff out of bailing and spring wire for Grandma. It's around here somewhere and I will take a photo of it. Several pairs of tweezers too. I suppose I am to hard on plastics, they are light weight and ideal for just the uses you describe. The ones I showed are pretty heavey...
  23. I bet he appreciates that..... We used to have a rescue doberman that would chase tennis balls rolled intentionally under the sofa. She would go right under after it, and it was fun watching the couch bounce around until she found it. She was a younger dog then, though. The only thing that grabber lacks is a spring return to open it back up.
