  1. Two chisels, jug of spikes, small lug wrenches and mig tips for the propane forge build. Stopped at the welding supply place and asked for an .035 tip and he said all they had were packs of 5, I said I only needed 1(frosty burner) he went into the back and came out with these said they were discontinued and I could have them....thank you sir
  2. Have never used the Harrington chain falls but their chain come alongs are excellent. We use them in the mine and let's say the are not taken care of well and rarely have any issues with them
  3. Nice hammer, I will be making myself one in the future but still working on the tools to do so
  4. If u need tools make them, I'm new and have a list of things I want to make but don't have the tools, guess what I'm making the tools first that's part of the gig don't give up
  5. Nice, I think I would hang it crooked. When the striker is hung on it it will lean over anyway
  6. Welcome Joshua I am also from PA, near canonsburg, I am fairly new also read and learn what you can. Forge as much as possible you will probably make a huge pile of stuff that isn't what you were planning ( scrap ) but just keep going
  7. Nice, idea for future...the ladies love to burn candles=good gifts
  8. I was just using the woodburner in my basement to do some heating and beating takes a little while to heat but it works, it's already burning to keep the house warm so why not. Definately do some searches tons of info out there and welcome aboard
  9. I'm no help on this probably but sounds like a possible fuel or air issue as far as the heat. the idea is a good one though, lots of forge welding also
  10. On the list, Das if you need anything let me know
  11. Here is two hooks Das and I made the other night, mine on the left or top and his opposite depending how pic loads. Das was good to meet you and we got to get together and forge again thanks
  12. Forged flat seat end to two flats then rolled bottom lip in to catch underside of cap bent stem to comfortable angle
  13. Das it was pretty easy, I figured a gearhead that likes a cold one would like it, I have heard that some valves have ??? Sodium in them ?? Not sure about that so if it goes in the fire watch it. I don't know if I have any more around I'll look maybe we can make a few. here are some of the other thing I have made. Rough but they function , and my touch mark for now.
  14. Figured I would put a few pics up: tine fork, steak turner, bottle openers gotta get some more pics I'll put more on a little later
  15. Very nice work, once you get TIG welding down your possibilities could be endless. I think I may have thrown out tons of stuff in the past you guys could have made some beautiful pieces with.
  16. Pretty sure I have the same spreader here in the field, think it's an IH
  17. Yes, I see no groove in looking at it more good call ThomasP, pretty sure it's not the first time I was wrong and pretty sure not the last(just ask my wife)haha
  18. Looks to be a pulley of some type, similar to ones from the top of a barn for a hay spear
  19. CT very nice. Creative. I could give you enough wire to make tons of those if you want to do some walking on the edges of the property
  20. Santa, I've been really bad I would be ok with you bringing me coal that has been heated/burned in the absence of oxygen
  21. Welcome, I am new here also, I spend most of my time here reading and learning. There is a great wealth of knowledge here so if you have a question do some searches first before asking good luck to you Jim
