  1. 4140...prob not my first choice but it’s what I had in a size I wanted to try

  3. A small belt axe and made some feather hooks
  4. Just keep after it, correct issues you know of and press forward. The correct tongs help dramatically, if you can’t hold it you can’t hit it.

  6. I’m glad it’s going to be used instead of holding down my shop floor. Was good to meet you.
  7. I will be there camping on site. This will be my third year there but first to camp there, maybe even get into the forging competition
  8. A few things from the past week or so
  9. I see a lot of people have been busy on lots of great items here are mine from recent, rod brackets horseshoe hooks and a pile of hammers
  10. Large hammer / small sledge all hand forged with striker and no drilling,just shy of 7 lb and two commissions a 2 lb er and 1.75 lb
  11. Got bored and went to the shop for a little while and made a small ball peen....first one..not a fan of the proportions but it will work
  12. Das a woman wanted something to mount on large doors in here home...that used to be a barn...partially her idea with the shoes and I knew someone with the used draft horse ones and coupled them with some spikes drawn out slightly
  13. A few hammers from the weekend and a set of commissioned door pulls I made today
  14. Yea she will shine once I get done grinding on it... ......sorry ...I couldn't resist, it will not get any grinding I assure everyone, possibly electrolysis
  15. I don't post here much but figured I would show this one that came in with me today 184lb peter wright I believe, haven't had a chance to properly clean. It will look good beside the 250 fisher

  20. I'm in Canonsburg Pa not too far from you, I've been through Blacksville many times as I do service work for the coal mines. Just as Das said I'm no Pro but sure can beat up a hot piece of steel.
  21. I don't think you will have any issues selling any of them, very nice
  22. I did make a set of tongs but found than when I made the hammer the end curls need modified some to be efficient and they need to be a little heavier, I drew them out a little too much
  23. that's a dandy...guess I need to look for some 3", that makes the one I just forged seem like a tack hammer!!!
  24. Thanks, my plan is to keep going with hammers and other tools I really enjoy the heavier type forging. Everything I forge seems to teach me something
