  1. Will do Aus. I've only made one bull head before and I'd like to try more. If I can get past all this craziness I've been busy with. it's good to be busy tho.
  2. Wow that did get a beautiful pattern. The cable in the guard turned out awesome too. Nice work.
  3. We have LED lighting in the newly built bodyshop I work at and the lighting is great. IronWolf, sometimes when laying on your back working under a car it's natural to look up but I'm reminded right away not to lol. In the plans for my shop are replacing my 7 8' florescent fixtures with LED fixtures. The price has come down since they first were coming out and I think I could afford it now. same with the regular light bulbs. I've slowly been replacing the lamps in the house with LED bulbs and like the results.
  4. Looks great Aus! what Frosty said on the cats. they are expensive and even bring good scrap money. Now about all those free piano ads I've seen on craigslist?................
  5. Yeah Aus, Thats the idea. Looking at that one, I'm thinking the bull head would look good being past the handle and at the blade. I guess it would depend on what order you forged the parts. You could leave the handle beefier and maybe just forge weld the end and punch and drift a loop. It looks good. I should try one before I keep suggesting stuff to change yours haha. Mark II is always better. It works the kinks out. Next someone will recommend making the pommel look the the back end of a bull with a tail..
  6. Ball end on the hook looks good. the more you make the better you will get at them. keep it up.
  7. Nice looking bunch of blades BillyO.
  8. Beautiful work Theo. love how the pattern turned out. Very cool design.
  9. Thanks BD1. Please do. I love seeing what others make.
  10. Thomas I have some of those star shaped pieces kicking around.
  11. Sometimes I just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.
  12. That's pretty big for this exact project but could work for a larger version. Personally ball bearings of about all sizes can be had inexpensively through different "junk" wheel bearings. That's expensive for what I would pay but if you had no other option... What's a box of doughnuts and asking nicely cost? Take that to a body or mechanical shop and it could pay 100 fold in what your looking for. Again tho, with no other options.?
  13. Naw CT, nowhere near the most derailed. I have seen way worse on here.
  14. Not trying to derail you, since rail could be a fine anvil, but have you looked into metal fab shops or machine shops in the area? Many times they can have blocks or rounds of good steel that could be great anvils. Also search and read up TPAAAT http://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/3602-thomas-powers-applied-anvil-acquisition-technique/ Other then that use what you have for now and get hammering.
  15. There never are. With a full time job, I tend to burn the candle at both ends too often.
  16. Aus, those are really nice. How bout on the long horn you leave enough material in the handle to fold him up after making the bull head to look almost like a guard on a dagger.
  17. Skooby, there is only so much hardened top plate on that anvil. Resurfacing it is taking usability and life Out of it. How long have you used it as is?
  18. I can't believe I haven't made any of those yet Vaughn. Love the design.
  19. Just sharing the curse Frosty. Armaturedillo would be cool. In some modern window motors the armature is shorter, they could make great mice. Might make a good addition to the owl. Thanks for the idea Frosty! Gatta keep the imagination soaring.
  20. Thanks CT. I do what I can when I can. This is a busy time of year at work and at home. I really need to push through an owl that has been eluding me. once it starts coming together I'm sure it will flow. just need to crest that hill. I've been loving seeing what you have been making as well. Keep at it.
  21. The zombie weapons and post apocalyptic weapons are always fun. I've made some axes and stuff before to just be wall hangers. I could probably do them all day long. Once for the fun of it I took some to sell at a fleamarket. Should have seen how many people were just creeped out seeing them. Then the few who absolutely loved them. Looks like a real slasher. Love the chain and loop on the end of the handle.
  22. Thanks CT. It was a pita haha. Next time I'll try clay or welders putty. Keep doing what you do and the inspiration will lead you.
