  1. How about Youcon , because you configure it the way you want it.
  2. Here is a link for a Victor manual with charts for various tips. http://www.thermadyne.com/IM_Uploads/DocLib_4120_0056-0138.pdf
  3. When you say tea, do you mean regular tea like one would drink or something else ? Looking forward to your pictures.
  4. That's cool. I agree, I think they'll like it and probably come up with more stuff for you to put the squeeze on.
  5. Thanks for the positive comments. Spears, the stock in the video clip is 1.25" round. I got the plans from Clay Spencer, he is a little south of you in Somerville AL.
  6. I completed my tire hammer a little while back and got around to shooting some pictures and a little video clip. It's my first power hammer and I am really like it. The video is only the third piece of steel I've wacked with a power hammer so I'm starting to get the hang of it. YouTube - tirehammer
  7. 15% buyer's reaming. That funny. People who know me would say that sounds like some of my colorful terminology.
  8. Yes, Sad to say. http://www.iforgeiron.com/forum/f7/mike-ameling-dies-15229/
  9. The end of the pipe must first be cut square. Wrap a piece of heavy paper around it tightly, aligning the edge of the paper. Scribe a line around the pipe and cut, grind or file to that line. If possible drill a hole in the plate centered on the pipe and run threaded rod through the plate and pipe to clamp it for welding. Tack weld on opposing sides in several places and weld in segments on opposing sides to equalize warpage.
  10. At the top of the page in the middle of the green bar. Welcome to Iforgeiron.
  11. Looks like a good deal to me. Go get it before someone else does.
  12. Here is a safety guide with the basics http://www.hobartwelders.com/pdf/m199776e_eng.pdf
  13. I've used this before MSC Google Search Results .You can order by the foot from MSC. Try to find cable without a nylon or fiber rope core. If you do, unravel enough to remove the rope and twist it back before forging.
  14. I have one in my blacksmith shop that I use sometimes. If I have any serious drilling to do I use the electric drillpress in my main shop.
  15. I would mount a normally closed limit switch on an adjustable rod that would open as the rams came up to the point it was set to, stopping the pump motor. A normally open switch would be linked to the reverse foot lever so when the lever was fully depressed the pump motor would re-start and reverse the rams. The two limit switches would control a magnetic contactor/starter which you may already use on the motor.
  16. I use a piece of heavy denim to protect my mig from grinder dust and grit. Denim is what I wear when the sparks are flying and I haven't caught on fire yet.
  17. One advantage of manual oiling any machine is that as you oil the lube points you can get in the habit of visually and manualy inspecting for wear and parts working loose or other damage. You can catch a problem before things start flying apart.
  18. 60 degrees to the edge would be 3.464 inches. 60 degrees to the end would be 6.928 inches.
  19. It's possible to really speed up the process by using a microwave oven to dry small pieces of wood. I've tried it on a few of my wood turning projects with success. Here's a link to an article about it. Microwaving Wood to Dry Do a web search for microwave wood drying for more info.
  20. You could turn a shallow chamfer on the outer rim of the spring bushing to get the clearance. You'll still have the strength where it's needed and can avoid notching the arms. Just a thought.
