  1. I agree with thomas, I am born and raised in Ohio, have lived in the south and have returned so I know two regions. Last damaged anvil I sold was missing the heel, english style 125 pounds and I had to work hard to get $75 out of it in ohio.
  2. Im repowering a mid sized camel back drill press. I was setup for 3 phase so I setup the single phase motor at the same rpm and its much to fast. Can anyone give me an idea how fast the pulley shaft should spin? thanks marcus
  3. I once new a wise older man who, when building any buildings, built a scale model. Could see porportion real well as well as any possible issues.
  4. So, whens the Unit/Kit/Plans coming to the market?
  5. That would be a middle of the road price here, I have seen them higher they dont sell, seen them lower and the go fast.
  6. Thats true self reliance there. Great Eye!
  7. Thanks for all the replies guys, I really appreciate it. Sounds like this one is just overpriced for what it is. I will keep looking. Hate that I missed that one you had listed Tim, I would gladly pay $900 for a decent 500 pounder
  8. As the title states, I am in negotiations on a 500 pound fisher anvil. it has good edges but some material missing on the front corners. (small chip on one side, golf ball size on the other) What would you guys feel comfortable paying for a anvil of this size? and condition?

  10. Pictures and location will help greatly, prices vary by region, condition and weight
  11. 1999 Ford Ranger of Danger 250k miles Its tired
  12. Well, the cats out of the bag....... The old saying goes, it only takes two people wanting the same item For example 5" post vise at a sale I stopped bidding @ $100 because a smith was there and needed a replacement Another sale I bought 6" vises for $30 in better condition. No body needed one Considsering the exposure this sale has had and the size/amount of tools etc, I would not expect many deals unless you wait till late in the day, and focus on small/common items. Good luck See you there
  13. I would roll it upside down and check the threads, maybe theres some rust or some kind of buildup on the threads. Theres really not much that can go wrong with these.
  14. the horn on that anvil made for Big Blu looks really skinny If I had the need/coin for a new anvil, I would look hard at the peddinghaus.
  15. I have found for my small projects I prefer cross peens in the 2.5 to 3.5 pound range.
  16. Heck, matchless has a painted up #25 on ebay right now, over 4k and not met reserve yet!
  17. Hi guys, I have saw a couple threads on here about HB serial numbers and would love an idea when mine was made. Ive owned it a year and its a joy to use. the number on the foot is 210440 Side is marked Hay Budden Brooklyn NY in large letters on the side and 304 under that Any help would be great Thanks Marcus
  18. Of all the times I regret leaving arkansas, this is at the top! Hope it finds a good home
  19. Looks like a great press. I have been considering somthing similar for my next big purchase. Could you please tell me why this type is not ideal fo forging? to many turns per inch? to much mass in the wheel requiring excessive effort? or somehting else?
