  1. ye i looked in to them it might be the only thing to get Pacific Carbon ,Thanks Pill but i do get good coking coal a make coke out of it i put it around the fire wet it cokes up as the day runs on, but it is a bit dirty you get a bit of clinders moony
  2. ye the titamium i forge was eazy it forged like mild steel only softer and yes dont try to forge it to cold alawys keep it hoter the 900 c a bit lower but to move it best over 900 i made a flower from a lump 2'' round 2'' long moony

  4. hi all i made curtain ring in my home for our widows the rod is 1'' solid bar long enough to coverthe window with 2.1/2 ''forged steel balls on the end the large rings are 1/2 bar in to a ring 3'' inside diamitor i made a turning mandrel with a crank handle i made like it was a coil spring enough to make 8 in one batch heat the small rings i found old coil spring from roller door i cut with 1mm vip cut disc then close on to large ring it all looks a reet over the window also made small brackets to hold it all up i made good browny points with darling lololol

  6. with a anyang an many other air hammers there is no real exhaust out let tha anyang exaust under the fly wheel so no place to put a pipe massey under the frame some of the other fabricated hammers blow out a small pipe these you might be able to duct but its the smak that is the trouble with noise notso much the air you can build asound proof room to have the hammer if that one way to shut it up lolol

  8. well it all went great, there was 17 of us there hammering away i had no camera to take pictures i hope others have picture to post i have been crook with a fever from Tuesday , it is now friday and i am starting to feel bit better not sure what i had but i got crook well i hope some pictures come up moony

  10. hello to all yes jim has it about right i used timbers under my 7cwt massey but i not have nexty worries there are a few insulator pads the jame walker stuff i have information on and it looks a good product and to have 2 concrete foundation is another idea the first is a think base slb with the pad on top then anothe concrete block pour on top this block is the full main block and then in the pit where the anvil is set u put mor pads under tyhe anvil then put the hammer frame on top all bolted down with the tee head bolts in the tube set up and you should not have ground vibration travel theres a bit more to keep the side walls of the top slab block away from the sides of the hole but i not going in to full details moony
  11. hi all well only 13 days till ge all get hammered again things still on track and happening i been blind the lastfew day got a welding flash and bits of grinding sparks in the eyes ooooooo no goood

  14. there are many differant signal each smith might have a little different for another, as long as your helper understands the signal you give ,then it all good just, don't miss the flatter head and hit the handle or the smith MIGHT chase you around with a hot settt lolol or look out

  16. lolo, to find u brain or pick it lololo we are all mad , obnly i think you might be more madder than I but thats debatable , well the swing crane works a treat and the furnace near the big press is there but i not built a crane over it yet and i hope to take the old steamy down to front gate this week coming i am doing some re adjusting things around in the work shop but same sort of set up with large forge table and othere bits look forward to all attending get hammered

Well hi to all it not long now, i got a swing crane next to the 7cwt to hold heavy bits. the 1000 toner press has dies and a furnace near it and i am hopefully putting a swing crane next to the 1000 toner so large bits can come out of the furnace an forge under the 1000- toner and the old steam hammer is going down front gate , so its all on, don't forget the new dates for get hammered are 18 19 20 october 2013, the 18th is for the early one to get here and ready so look forward to a good safe weekend Moon
  19. hello Basher we have not met up yet my name is Glenn moon i am in Australia i have had many apprentices in Blacksmithing over the year but i live here also i am part time college teacher in industrial Blacksmithing i believe that the college is Hereforshire has formal classes if you talk with them they might be able to help you aslo good to see you smelting iron i have been smelting iron for about 17years but its a funn thing no money in it just for laughs to make wootz cakes from the iron well if you ever over here you be most welcome in my workshop i have a 7CWT massey and a few anyang and a few hydraulic presses hope one day to get back over to uk moony

  22. well its great to the the old girl still got it in her, and they re fit it , it make my 1000 tonner look like a toy, and i thought my baby was great , but if they ever decide to scrap it i make an offer but my generator will have a heart attack trying to run that babies motors good to see that SOME U S A COMPANYS HAVE STILL GOT THE BRAINS TO KEEP GOING
