September 7, 2025Sep 7 This is for my wife, the post title is her old nickname and the reason we met but that's a different story for later. She's been wearing a heart monitor for an arrythmia and got a phone call about 30 minutes ago to get herself into Providence hospital in Anchorage and report to the ER ASAP to have a pacemaker installed. Evidently her heart stopped for 8 seconds just before they called. The delay calling her was to review the monitor recording and decide if they should dispatch a Life Flight or ambulance. They were okay with me driving her in so I am. She's primping and I'm getting things together. We are leaving soonest! Say a few words with higher for her please. It's a routine operation. I'll let you know. Thank you Jerry for Deb Frost
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Good luck, arrythmia is no fun and nothing to play around with. Ask me how I know. Sounds like she's in good hands and I wish her all the best!
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Author I ended up dropping her off, they were moving her to her room when I said see you soon. They didn't wheel her out on a gurney or even a wheel chair but they want to observe over night with her wired up like switchboard. I should've asked for pics. We left Baxter kenneled and took Ronnie, of course. Baxter was really happy to get out and water the weeds outside. Ronnie is pretty sad, Deb's her main person and it's just plain wrong for her to be left alone. We've been working on the separation anxiety issue for years and Ronnie doesn't bark at the door every few minutes anymore. She barked a few times when I parked the car and left her to go into the ER. She barked when I opened the door to leave and again when Deb didn't come with. So, she's resigned, laying next to me in my chair watching the front door. She's actually listening for a vehicle or footsteps, facing the door keeps her barker pointed the right direction. Ronnie just perked up a little and is checking the front door. Deb called, they have her intubated and wired up to monitors, sort of restrained to keep the tubes where they're supposed to be. Her spirits were good lots better than the anxious ride to town. She'll keep me updated and I'll probably babble about it to you. Thanks for the prayers, Frosty The Lucky.
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Jerry, I'm thinking and praying for Deb, you, and the furry folk. Keep us informed. BTW, did you get the PM I sent you a day or two ago. I haven't gotten a reply and that is unlike you. George
September 8, 2025Sep 8 My prayers and thoughts for you and Deb, Jerry. Mayby sometime, when things are better and time allows, it would be good to hear the Snowgoose story. Be well. Scott
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Hopefully, Good Morning, We are hoping the "Great Good Luck" is on Deb's side of Life!! Fingers, Toes, Arms and Legs are all crossed. Sometimes you need it!! Neil
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author Darn George, I'll have to check. I see it now thank you. I was fighting with a dead mouse and using the keyboard, I missed a lot while it was out. Worse Windoze got updated again a couple days ago AND while the Windows hotline guy was trouble shooting the issue. I'll pass the info about the auction to the club, I'm selling my smithing gear off. It's not easy getting the word out though, online sites like Marketplace want 25% or more. The local auction house takes close to 50% and sets the prices and writes the ads. It's why you see so many Vintage Antiques buzz word bingo for sale ads online. The auction site doesn't show anything but a cover pic of a bunch of things. The only way to look is to subscribe to their opt in "service" so you'll never miss a valuable notice. The subscription fee is even reasonable if you select the monthly auto withdrawal option. I haven't been to an auction here in years, the ringers don't even pretend to be bidders, they just run the bid up to what the auction house wants. The minimum bids on any auction ad up here is just bait, the auctioneer won't "see" bids at or near the minimum and the ringers run it right up. Sorry for the rant, I'll pass it along to the club. Thanks again. Thank you everybody, I'll let Deb know the gang is behind her when she calls today and I'll let you know her status in return. Frosty The Lucky.
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Jerry, off topic, but briefly as far as advertising your smithing gear online, check craigslist dot org, no fees and they have sites for Kenai and Anchorage. Many advertise well outside of the cities. --Larry
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author I'll check Craigslist again, last time I did they wanted a % but that was last summer. Thanks Larry. Frosty The Lucky.
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Author I just got off the phone with Deb, she's back in her room and going through the menu, she's starving. Surgery went well, no problems and the pacemaker has her feeling better already, good color, isn't feeling tired, etc. They're going to watch and monitor her till sometime tomorrow morning to make any adjustments and tweaks. I'm feeling less tetchy already and heck I'm a HAPPY GUY! Thank you for the prayers gang it worked again. The only downside is I'd just finished my dinner when she called or I'd head to the coffee shop for something I didn't cook myself in celebration. Be well all and thanks again. Frosty The Lucky.
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Author We're home, Ronnie was VERY happy when Deb was wheeled out of the hospital door. I'd brought a small pillow so Deb could cushion her chest so Ronnie could express her joy in little dog fashion. Her main person is home and she's up making mom better. Deb's napping and I'm back on "lift everything" duty for a week or so. Her color is a lot better and even exhausted she has more energy than before. Thanks again guys, It's a good day. Frosty The Lucky.
September 10, 2025Sep 10 I just got home a while ago and saw this. I went out in the Celtic garden and rang the anvil three times and asked the Goddess, God and Great spirit to send healing light to Deb aka Snowgoose and comfort to both of you and the fur kids.
