October 22, 20169 yr I bought this 240 lb. Soderfors Paragon Anvil today.. I don't have it in my possession yet, I should have it in about a week then I will thoroughly clean it and post more photos of it.. I think I got a good deal on it at $2.83 a pound.. does anyone have any idea what year it may have been made ?? thanks, JT

October 23, 20169 yr I think I hate you JT! . . . Okay, I have the worst of the anvil envy out of my system now. That is one SWEET DEAL! Who cares how old it is you scored a Soderfors for less than $3.00/lb! I don't even see anything to clean up from the pics just put her to work. If you rub the sides with chalk or similar then wipe it off lightly any stamped marks will show better especially if you take the pic with oblique lighting. if it's date marked they stamped it in the side. Just be prepared to work on one of if not THE finest anvil's made. What a DEAL! Frosty The Lucky.

I was a little surprised that it wasn't getting the bids like I thought it was going to get... but it worked out in my favor.. JT

I have a very large one at my bank and will store it for you at no charge., I see your from Michigan so I will give you a loaner to work on., Nice score.. October 23, 20169 yr that just might be the best anvil you will ever forge on. prepare to have your hammer fly out of your hands and through the roof when u hit it. soderfors have some REBOUND. i have a 160 lb soderfors and the only thing better would be a 260 lb soderfors. congrats on a beautiful anvil.

Hi I don't know the age of it.. and I have contacted him again asking him to add some tie down straps to hold it better to the pallet

October 27, 20169 yr If either of you north MI boys can get to the Traverse City area this Trenton is listed for sale for $300. I'm down in the Thumb and can't make the trip any time soon. Darn shame too, looks nice. Not sure of weight but it isn't tiny at 28" long.
