Gorō
Has anybody dealt with this company that sells anvils? The company name is Branco http://www.branco.cz/anvils.htm I've found a 54kg/118lb anvil for 400 EUR that I want to buy but they don't use PayPal :/ Thanks
George Geist
They look like nice ones. No distributors outside that country? George
Frosty
The website says they ship worldwide but maybe retail. I like it they call a swage block a "Piercing Disk." Different part of the world don'tchaknow. Frosty The Lucky.
Smoggy
Contact them, they have agents worldwide, maybe even where ever you are!
whodoamb
If I am not mistaken they are the same ones that Old World Anvils carries!
will52100
Never dealt with them, but from there web page it looks like there on the soft side, but the price is very attractive if its new or near new condition. I worked for many years on a soft anvil and while not as much fun as a hard one, it'll get the job done.
Gorō
I'm in Australia, just want to know if the seller is legitimate before I send money for the anvil. They have advised me they don't use PayPal only bank deposit so I'm kinda worried because they are on the other side of the world
WayneCoeArtistBlacksmith
BigBlu has Chech anvils that are very nice. You might check with Josh there and he may be able to get one sent directly from the foundry that they use or they may be attractive even if shipped from their location. I just checked and they do take PayPal. They are good folks to deal with. Tell 'em I sent you.
Gorō
Wayne, not sure who you are talking about for the PayPal? ive been sending emails to Branco cz about payment for the anvils. They have told me they only take bank deposits, I'll email Branco cz again and tell them that Wayne sent me? Thanks Just had a look at their website and I'm afraid all those anvils are out of my budget
JHCC
Peter, I think Wayne was saying that BigBlu takes PayPal, not Branco.
JHCC
I like the "piercing desk". Anyone going to be in the Czech Republic anytime soon and willing to bring one back in their suitcase?
Gorō
Bigblu is not within my budget....they make cool hammers through

Maybe I'll hide it in my carry on?
Frosty
Boy I misread that didn't I. Piercing desk makes a LOT more sense than a piercing disk. No need to hide your piercing desk in your carry on, just carry it one hand they'll let you be. Frosty The Lucky.
John McPherson
Hey, its only 82 kilos. I have picked up my 150 kilo anvil and walked with it. Not very far, and not lately, but.... 16" x 16" x 3.75", I think I could put it in a sturdy backpack and walk OK. Not sure about the overhead bin, though. JHCC
I am high enough in the frequent-flier hierarchy that I get to check a bag for free, but not one of that weight!

ThomasPowers
Ahhh call me old fashioned but I never had the urge to sit on the piercing desk---I've put more than enough holes in my hide accidentally to approve of purpose made ones---save for the surgical scars and they were nicely stitched up afterwards, (well stapled...)
