Fe-Wood
I am sorry to post this but I have just received word that one of my oldest and dearest friends in Blacksmithing community Toby Hickman died suddenly earlier today . I have no other details other then his wife Anne has asked to please allow her privacy at this time and not call . There is to much to say about Toby at the moment for me other than he was a great and dear friend to us all and will be sorely missed . This was posted by Michael Bondi on the CBA facebook page. This is a huge loss to the blacksmithing community. Toby was an inspiration and wealth of knowledge to many, myself included. I will miss him and his great booming voice at CBA gatherings. RIP my friend!

Jamesrjohnson
Toby was one of the greats in the blacksmith community. I remember meeting him several times at CBA conferences and he was always interested in my work and encouraging. He was a no non-sense guy that was a true artist and craftsman. He will be missed. RIP friend. James

SoCal Dave
He was a big man in many ways. What a loss. I always wanted to take one of his class but it never worked out and now it never can. I had called him about a question on one of his videos. He was so kind and helpful and patient.

Jakesshop
Met him last year I Placerville CA at the CBA Spring Conferance. He really knew his way around a powerhammer! I'm really glad I bought his DVD on powerhammer use directly from him. Going to miss his style of instruction that captured your attention! Arctic Anvil
I met him yrs ago at his shop in Petaluma. He had a great way of encouraging new smiths and I remember seeing & hearing him on his power hammer. My anvil will also ring in memory of him. Prayers & thoughts to his family at this difficult time.
