December 16, 200916 yr Not only has this guy never seen an anvil, he can't use a cutting torch either!:Blacksmith's ANVIL from 20"x 6 1/2" beam on eBay (end time 18-Dec-09 17:55:45 GMT)
December 16, 200916 yr thats about as pathetic as they come they shouldn't be aloud to call it an anvil
December 16, 200916 yr Looks to me like the person is under the impression that you bang on an anvil to hear a ring. That's mostly all your going to get out of that piece of scrap iron besides a complimentary lolly pop from the scrap yard.
December 16, 200916 yr 10 British pounds = 16.37200 U.S. dollars For 1 cwt of mild steel seems a reasonable deal, but only if you need stuff that thick and can cut it up. Otherwise yea, a lollipop from the scrapyard. Phil
December 16, 200916 yr Looks like he had to label it so he didn't forget what it was supposed to be. THAT'S bad. :D
December 16, 200916 yr That is pitiful. Would it qualify as abstract art? Probably it would. Just think of some of the other cr.p that some people present as art. Bill
December 17, 200916 yr Not only has this guy never seen an anvil, he can't use a cutting torch either!:Blacksmith's ANVIL from 20"x 6 1/2" beam on eBay (end time 18-Dec-09 17:55:45 GMT) I thought you where just being mean.... Till I looked at it... turns out your spot on...

December 17, 200916 yr Too bad, it looks like he's not willing to ship overseas....I guess I won't be able to retire my tomoto soup-can anvil quite yet :(
December 17, 200916 yr wot makes me laugh is he says it can be made flatter with an angle grinder.... so its not even flat then??? i think i'll take the lollipop too..
December 17, 200916 yr David Hannum famously said, "There's a sucker born every minute." This guy is simply trying to find one of them. Bill
December 17, 200916 yr whoah whaoah!!! you guys get suckers at your scrap yard??? My uncle owns the one i go to , and I still dot get a sucker! I think that"ll Ill keep my HB. Im just not ready for that kind of quality. wow... I cant say that with a strait face...
January 2, 201016 yr For posterity - attached is a copy of the picture of the anchor (anvil) being discussed.
January 2, 201016 yr I would hesitate to even call it an ASO(anvil shaped object). Throw it in the scrap pile.
January 2, 201016 yr lol i would rather keep my non prichal mousehole that has a cracked faceplate and plus i have better i-beams than that one
January 3, 201016 yr njanvilman, I agree. I wouldn't even go so far as to call that an ASO!! LOL. The sad part is that some poor sap will probably buy it. :(
January 4, 201016 yr thanks for saving this image, I was afraid it would be lost in the fog of history. I would not be surprised if it ended up on display somewhere as a sculpture dealing with the inginuity of man. LOL
