Hey guys a friend found this knife and is looking for the maker. Ironically enough that name is J. Hyde as my name is James Hyde.

Here is my candle holder. In this picture it is not finished needs paint still. The twist is 4pcs of 1/2angle iron and 4 pcs of textured 5/16 bar welded at the ends and twisted.

yes it would as long as you have a fire pot your good to go. i am going to put braces on when i get the fire pot made for this forge so the pan doesnt warp

Ya but you know how us blacksmiths are we think we built something perfect but within the first ten min of use modifying to make it better :) although i am speaking for myself

Here is my new travel forge its just the pan at the moment still need to make and install a firepot and plum in the blower and ash dump. It is set up for a Champion 400 blower. James

What Frosty said :) also try finding a blacksmithing group around you check the ABANA website they have all the local chapters listed. Its way better to have someone show you the ropes in my opinion. James

was gonna try the linseed oil and beeswax mix but i may never get around to doing that

Well here is the Peter Wright all cleaned up wire brushed and oiled until i get the ingredients for a better finish :)

Here is my 2 new anvils paid 50$ for both the bottom one is a 136# Peter Wright and the smaller one im not sure but it has (might be I.I.) L L & B & Co and a 6 casted in the foot

i did use my propane forge in a vise heated the blades up and it cut pretty easy then but i out lined them cold

The only thing it needs is paint

Well its been awhile since i have posted a project on here, so here is my latest one. The twist is made up from 4pcs of 1/2" angle and 4pcs of 5/16 textured bar stock welded at the ends and twisted. The leaves and wax dish were cut out of saw blades (because i didnt have any sheet metal) using hammer and chisel. the candle cup is 3/4 black pipe the whole thing is welded together except the where the twist meets the base it has a stud welded into the twist.

I will agree with frosty on the mild steel tongs, I make tongs out of mild steel because that is what i have there for i have learned you need nice and thick boss area and thick jaws so they dont flex and or break.Some of my first tongs i didnt leave enough material in the boss and jaw areas and i have issues with everything bending out of place.

You could use a drill to make the hole a 5/16" or 3/8" bit should be good enough in a pinch

When i have had large pieces of coal i just set them on top of the fire and they just split up by themselves, after they split i use my poker or rake to break them up on my forge given you have the space on your forge to set large pieces of coal on it.
