  2. Milk can I got two a big and a small one they got lids on them made well and heavy enough were they wont fall over easy
  3. Biggundoctor you may be right, Had is the keyword WWII sent many to the scrap yard for the war effort I spend a lot of time looking and they are just not that common anymore
  4. I don't know about your guy's areas but I live just outside of an urban jungle so to get anvils is a ton of work looking, calling and driving not to mention they are heavy. I get it if you live in the sticks and all your neighbors have barns and one out of every 10 has an old anvil but not by me. I only say this because when I sell an anvil and someone complains about the price I tell the people to do the work i do to get it then talk.
  5. I have become so sarcastic in my old age i was like this person is joking then i was like new member they are serious
  6. I actually just picked up the vise version (no forge) last week you are also missing the pipe clamps and face plate for drilling as well. The only thing i got with mine was the chuck
  7. Might check this one out thoughts only photo i got to go offer 24.5"W x 11'H those are the dimension.
  8. Yeah I got a friend who is going to go over it but figured its easier for him to just adjust one to cover the specific area and requirments then have to write one from scratch
  9. Would anyone have a template they would be willing to share?
  10. I have someone interested in a 155lbs peter wright I have and the shipping prices for anything over 150lbs are crazy who do you guys use?
  11. The beauty of what i do part-time is search for anything blacksmith. I picked up this guy and farrier anvil Monday going to sell the anvil to pay for the vise i think.
  12. I just picked this guy up very cool wish I had all the other parts.
  13. Yeah I ended getting the vise and anvil for a fair price and helped put them in contact with someone to buy the press. I would of liked to have it but it was not in the cards
  14. Yeah as much as I want that press I dont think i am going to get it. I think its more then I can handle moving safely. I still want that vise but not sure if it worth the trip
  15. Just waiting on some help first. I only want the fly press been looking for one for a while but might just take it all and sell the rest
  16. Yeah believe the price is fair they want 500 for everything
  17. The anvil is the main thing but might buy the press depending its cost
  18. I know weird question right? I must have bought and sold a dozen anvils this year. I check everything from estates sales, auctions, eBay, and junkyards. I have found for me the most common anvil I see for sale tends to be Vulcans.
  19. Nice setup! I have found at least in my shop an engine hoist is enough to handle moving most stuff around plus it can be collapsed and loaded up in my truck if i need to pick something up
  20. The general thought is anvils today are based on these factors weight, condition, maker, and location. The truth is some people like to say 3-6 dollars a pound but that doesn't really hold true I normally say an anvil is what someone will pay for it so if you decide to sell see what that maker recently has sold for and that weight set a price higher then you are willing to sell it for and worse case you can lower the price.
  21. I was going to check out this anvil tomorrow not sure on a maker I am assuming just a cast knock off but tell me if I am wrong? he said its 70lbs
  22. Check local and state laws. The fact is people can sue no matter what is signed but your county clerks office should be able to help.
  23. Yeah if I end up not selling it I may see if they would be willing to do the welding and I can grind to save some time and money
  24. Thanks, guys I appreciate it. I had no idea it was 20 hours of work I am sure that would put it out of the cost vs benefit range but I may have found a home for it a guy who owns a body shop wants it and I assume he can do all the repairs to so I am going to just move it along to the next guy.
  25. All of which i know. I know its usable but it pretty beat and can't do it myself which is why I asked the questions above.
