  1. Michael, sounds like a good time! That's funny I was just talking about weather. It's been more like spring all winter long with some days near 80 degrees sprinkled throughout. We aren't forecasted any winter weather either. It gets cold at night, then warms back up. So far, no frozen slack tub for me
  2. My nephew, who will turn 7 tomorrow, has a barstool chair that I put him in so he can watch at a safe distance. He loves tools and loves working with them. Maybe I can teach a little soon
  3. New Mexico is tool poor like Texas is. Or at least my part of the state. Makes me wonder if there are other treasure troves like that that have been hidden away just gathering rust and dust. It sure is nice you were blessed with the ability to be able to get more equipment to spread around in the shortage.
  4. I have it real good where I'm at. We don't complain about what the neighbors do and they don't complain about us. You can hear gunfire all over the place, including us.
  5. That's really good advice. That what I do. Once I get something smooth where I want it, I sure hate to ruin it in a just a couple of seconds.
  6. Hello Keith from Ohio from the great state of Texas! Welcome to the gang. I think it's not uncommon to want to make everything under the sun. Look forward to hearing from you and post pictures of your work. We love to see what everybody is doing
  7. You always post through the weekdays and I noticed you weren't on yesterday, so it made me wonder if you were off work or not feeling well. Sorry it was the latter but glad you're ok! Of course you are missed. The place wouldn't be the same without you
  8. I'm glad you're up and at'em Thomas. I wondered about you since you haven't been posting. Hope all goes well with your insurance and doctors
  9. Mmm... makes me hungry! You're a hammer making machine.
  10. What about the bear oil? Nice work. Did it go faster/ easier/ better with just using one tool?
  11. Thanks for taking the time to post that up. I enjoyed it very much. Lot of good information and insight into your own journey.
  12. Thanks Billy. That's the way I do it too. I was just curious after reading the other thread where spirals are being discussed. And I agree that's a great movie. Pale Rider is my favorite though. CtG, what an awesome experience ýou had. If I were a bit closer, I'd try to get a class with Mark. Still might someday
  13. Conrad, it looks really good. Being persistent paid off Didn't see ther other posts. Billy, how did you turn your spirals? JHCC, I like the shape you got there. Im finally giving knife making a go myself
  14. Sorry to hear about your plight, pnut. That's what I like about living in the country. Enough space to where every body minds their own biscuits.
  15. It'll be cool to see the whole collection when you're done! This is an area that interests me from a sculpting point of view as well. Can't hardly wait to see them!
  16. Good video Jennifer. I can't imagine forging in front of more than 1 or 2 people, let alone fielding questions and carrying on conversation! Mostly just me mumbling and the occasional use of words that aren't so nice. Klatchianmist nice assortment of hooks. Keep up the good work. GFH, nice smooth looking work. Well done
  17. Wow, that anvil has been rode hard and put up wet. Makes you wonder what someone was doing to damage it so thoroughly. What a shame
  18. You must be getting what we have here. Lots of rain and cold one day, warm the next. Humidity through the roof on the warm days.
  19. I agree with you Hans. I try to work a piece long so I can hold it with my hand as long as possible. It seems much easier to control. Then a well fitting pair of tongs when it gets too short to hold.
  20. Bear oil would certainly pique my interest in your work as a buyer. Your my kind of people Jasen
  21. Yes, Sam, did enjoy his feast. In fact, he gained a little weight!
