  1. It's in the blueprint 100 series
  2. Sorta is, but it's not as quick and easy to make as the one Charles is talking about mate, do a search here for 55gal forge, so easy to make even I can do it! Cheers
  3. IMO too heavy mate, go with a 55gal drum filled with sand, save the brake drums for a stand or a pot belly stove
  4. Gee I'm lucky, I picked up it's full brother at a garage sale for a 10th of that 2 yrs ago
  5. Coach screws wont hold as good in the end-grain of the stump, still might last a while out of the weather tho.
  6. Yeah Charles, be a bit if weight in it.
  7. Stephen you could make that brake drum work. Fill it full of packed down dirt and dig out what you want for the fire pot, leave a hole for the air to come up. Have the top of dirt level with top if drum, dig out/put dirt in as wanted. Cheap, easy, adaptable.
  8. Hello Ray, and welcome to IFI. Brendan
  9. Cable reels for electrical cable, house wiring, tv co-ax, that type of stuff.
  10. Gees Dave things must be a bit tough atm if 2' of snow and a couple of tornado's are "a lighter note" -) (joke)
  11. Mate if there is not a blacksmith you can spend time with then the next best 3 things you can do is read, read and read, then your ideas will come, try them, some will work, some not so good, when they work that is learnt, when they dont, that is homework to do. If you get stuck, plenty of good blokes and information here at IFI.
  12. Windchimes from Fredericks cross's, worked thin and wide.
  13. That was worth watching. Thanks for taking the time to show it, good job and nice blade.
  14. My favourite "Just because your an engineer doesn't mean you can make a matchbox work"
  15. Dave, mate I tell ya I'm almost a bit teary writing this. Mate hook into your blacksmithing regardless of what people say, it's not their dash (from IFI) anyway. Forge at will my friend. Brendan
  16. Did you have the anvil on a hard surface when you did the re-bound check?
  17. You can make a chimney pretty quick and cheap, rolled up iron? a couple of bits of angle iron and a handful of tek screws and your away. Put a damper in it for when the fire is really going.
  18. Basher, it says the BBC links are only playable in the UK, would have been good to see though.
  19. 0-0-1.5 hahaha really good job mate, does need makers mark and date. Top shelf.
  20. Do yourself a favour mate, walk hard as you can for at least half an hour every mourning. If you want to do something good for yourself get into forging, you will really enjoy it.
  21. Welcomd to IFI WickedEdges, also this is a very good place to start as well.
  22. NICE... I like the line in the blade going through the riccasso
