Heres mine I use it right often ,has 3 1/2 " jaws

Copper and mild steel Really like resurrecting scrap into other things

It is approx 12 inches long and the shovel portion is approx 3/4 " wide x 1 " long

Its not copper , its mild steel ,but it has been treated with the old brass brush trick

Pat it started out as a small piece of 1/2 X 3 1/2 copper , the dish is about 4 inches in diameter and the whole piece is about 6 inches tall

Colleen it was forged hot from start to finish

Borntoolate We call that a leg vise :)

Had a some copper left over from machining some buss bars for a major power company . Couldn't pull myself to sell the drops as scrap

Die grinder with a small flapper wheel is what I used

My vises are mounted at several different heights Tall for filing and such ( im also on the tall side a 6' 6" I hava a seven inch vise mounted low for striking and ground Vs in the jaws for firmly holding hardy shanks on some of my tooling. All of the vises are mounted on 4 or 6 inch heavy wall square tubing somewhere between 4 to 5 feet deep in the foor in concrete. When I hit them they DONT move. I prefer dirt floors over concrete. My floors are dirt ,covered with about 4 inches of rock dust ( granite dust ) which is like crusher run without the little pieces of rock

Perhaps a diagram of a knife blade and a finished knife with the terminology so those who might not know what these names of parts can go to at a glance and refresh their memory --- ie, .ricasso , choil , etc.
