    my 1st axe
  4. looks more like a potato than a rock, thats just a gotta have it now item Ron
  5. i could use them just to keep my toes from getting hurt LOL Ron
  6. the drop hammer, the heavy ones can also have a motor and gearbox attched to a large flat belt type pulley, the belt just lays over the pulley, with the motor on the pulley spins and when you pull on the rope it makes it very easy to lift the 250 lb drop hammer, i may be ablt to get pics if anyone is interested in seeing it this is one of the last thing to follow me home, its a kalamazoo 9" bandsaw, its a real nice saw, the other is an electric kiln which i havent taken any pictures of, the kiln i got to do some investment/lostwax casting
  7. a friend i know has a 250 lb drop hammer like that, very nice find, they are handy to have Ron
  8. that is a beautiful knife, i like the blade pattern a BP would be nice on a folding knife, i guess the best way to learn how its put together is to take one apart, Ron
  9. thats the most incredible father EVER, brought tears of joy to my eyes for the will to never giving up on his son, i sure hope that Rick is somehow able to have his dream come true, strong willed people never quit, Ron
  10. thats a "goesonta" not sure what it goes onto, but im guessing that it is a little bigger than that Ron
  11. those are really cool, what kind of connecting rods are those? they are connecting rods arent they, i have about 40 of them from old VW motors, maybe i could make something like that out of them Ron
  12. a Blue Print on sheath making would be a great idea for someone, id love to know how they are made, im sure i could cut and stitch one together, what i would like to know is how you make the designs in the leather Ron
  13. very nice, gonna hafta try that, first i need to try to make a handle as good as that Ron
  14. if it were me id try chris's idea, make bundles and use a bandsaw or a chopsaw, chopsaw is gonna cause lots of heat to the part and will be a dirty job, but its fast, i have cut stuff in bundles on a bandsaw before like that, didnt weld them together, but then again it wasnt stainless, we just banded them together real tight, worked out nice by the way, what kind of tolerance? or are you just wanting them all the same size? Ron
  15. now that last motor was a bign, as compared to the 2nd one, i liked looking at all 3, thanks for sharing, Ron
  16. doing some nice work there, i like the curve in the handle too, keep it up Ron
  17. Ed, you and your family will be in my prayers Ron
  18. Gobbler, i wish i could talk her into it, but if i even speak of "metal" i may as well not speak at all, she loves the roses i made for her and a few other odds n ends, and i did manage to get her out in the shop 1 afternoon and heat a 1/2" square bar and twist it (i saved it for her (just in case), but that was as far as it went, she thinks i spent to much time as it is in the shop and on the internet reading about all aspects of metal working, but after spending 18 years in a machine shop its tough to get away from what you really like to do with your time, maybe if i could get a small shop opened up and make some money it may inspire her to go with me to these type of events, been with her for over 23 years, married for 18, i love her more than i can say in words but i dont think ill ever make it to Quad State LOL, i just tell myself "there is always next year" Ron
  19. Good work, i kinda like the shape of the bottom one, i have never made a knife handle yet i have only started RR Spike knives, 3 so far, but i dont have my beltgrinder finished yet to finish them Ron
