  1. Welcome. Not sure what part of WI you live in but northern mn blacksmith conference USA the end of april south of Bemidji maybe I will see you there
  2. I think you have a bulk oil dispenser. You could line it with fire brick add a 2" pipe coming one at angle so the flame unrolls. Use waste oil if you have access to large amount. Need blower from old oil furnace or similar. Google smelter

    Rounding Hammers

Asking several blacksmiths any opinion will get you the exact oposite answer it is like the ford chevy dodge or politics. I like a square faced hammer with a slight dome and use the edges tilted as the pien instead of a cross or strait pien hammer so a sounding hammer would work for me but I dont use one just dont use the pien.
  7. The Pontiac Reginal conference in July is a great place to make contacts. A few hours form you but I drive over from Minnesota. Clifton Ralph is in Gary, ID not sure if he does any shop work but was the man when it came to power hammers.
  8. check with UMBA at www.umbaonline.ning.com then board members for someone local. Jim Hensel is close to chicago and Roger Carlson used to have a shop in town I think. John Biewer at anvils3@yahoo.com sells equipment and used to work in town.
  9. Peacock is the man to talk to on repairing or tuning a hammer.
  10. There is a 100# hammer on eBay but at eBay price or just was
  11. Why use stainless tin will outlast the refactory.
  12. Roses, slit cross. Just watched Alan Crease make things from angle iron, a scotti dog. A shrimp, pea pod, lips
  13. Is it the same size as a milwakee portaband if so I bought a new one for $7 on ebay a while back
