here is another leave, a couple of hooks that had been made with my jig and the man..........the welds are not the nicest.....but isntthat what angle grinders are for alec

too late...... I have already polished the man and welded him to a square block of steel......will post pics soon.... alec :D

thanks....... the man is going to be put on a small steel block.....just a random ornament.. it was a piece of 1 inch x 1/4 inch bar stock cut with a hot chisel. alec :D

I have never posted any thing that i have made on here so i thought i would just add a couple of the things that I made yeasterday afternoon. two leaves, and a praying man the man is not finished yet, i have still got the polishing, filing and the stand for it because it doesn't pray upright alec sorry if the photo quality is too large... P.S i put a guitar pick as a size reference.

"Twist it"..... "hot" it twists the same as bar but it just does it a lot easier!..... good luck with your coat stand. alec

I had exactly the same thing the other day.........If you get it again i advise drinking lots of water and have lots of sugar because your blood sugar will be low...

Today i made one out of a file ......had a lot of drawing down to do.......it works very well on any flint, hardened edge, i am happy with it......I will post pics soon!. alec

I have just found out what the sticky flux is... It is laffite plate.....applied between the two surfaces to be welded at red heat with a few light hammer blows to make it properly stick then and welding heat...the norm. alec I have attached a grab of the document also saying the website. I am a beginner at forge welding....(compered to you guys)...But the other day i started something.... an idea to practice....What i did was get a scrap 8 inch piece of 6mm and i folded it over and forge welded it with the normal processes in between(wire brush at red heat then flux) i kept folding and forge welding then i got another scrap piece of 6 mm bailed the two together then forge welded them.......what i will continue with today is just adding more stuff and the forge welding then folding and so forth... i wonder how big my "billet" will get! then when i feel like it i will cut it up in to little pieces and that way i can see how the welds were... For other beginners at the subject like myself i would advise doing this exercise...... My two pennys alec

Two small hammers (handled) 3 cold chisels, 17 spanners, 2 large files, a chipping hammer, an old roofers hammer (i think that's what they are) a door pull and a centre punch........... the price was.......(pause for effect).............£14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all this from the same guy at a car boot sale!!! alec
