  2. the face of the billet, ( which is seen on the pic was fully in the cola), vertically, the whole billet was not in the cola, alec

  5. 45,000 cells are being killed and made in your stomach every minute ! The inspiration came from looking in the fridge and seeing an out of date cola!...... I had a damascus billet that was "shinny" on one side and so, put the billet in some colain a glass, and in 9 hours, THAT had happened!!!!! it gives it a nice effect (with the cola) alec :D

  9. with tongs i just get two pieces from the scrap pile that are the right size and hammer them out (free) alec :D
  10. hi and welcome to the forum.... as the others have said..... SLOW DOWN.....start with the basics..... making round bar square, making a square short taper, making a long square taper, rounding of a square taper, making acurate bends over the horn to learn how to use the horn properly, fullering over the bick, etc....... you shouldn't be trying to forge weld right now.....start with the basics....I made the mistake myself. ( it would have been a lot simpler for me) i have been forging for 11 months and still can't forge weld properly....... make some"j" hooks, they are a good exercise i hope you were not offended by me saying that... alec keep forging
  11. i know that in my steel supplier ( ests (( eastern steel )) ) in norwich you can get 6mm square round.....but you are no where near there ! alec :D

This was only the first one, and i will use other methods next time..... thank you for reminding me of copper fusion and brazing in the forge....... about the carbon rods....as they are carbon does it just provide a heat source from the arc so one could feed in a filler rod..... am i right? I have heared of "carbon arc gouging" which i know is a procces of removing metal...... alec :D
