Seems like you should only make things that are...

tine-y

No, they can also be tine-tanic.

And if you left them out in the rain they'd become tan-tinic.

If his generous neighbour's last name was Frankens, they'd be Frankens' tines!

If you drive them into the wall next to the window to tie the curtains open on February 14th they'd be valence tines.

You are all my kind of people!!

These last two, especially, are inspired!

In all seriousness, JHCC, if you forge a snake out of one, it would literally be a serpent tine!

Will not make a fork pun...will not make a fork pun...will not make a fork pun...

You could play music on them and have Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey dance to it..."I...had...the tine of my life...and I've never raked this hay before..."

If nobody roasted a sausage on one he'd have Pork Fun. And probably do it tine and tine again.

Another “1920s-arts-and-crafts/shop-class“-type book for the library.

Sometimes I wonder just what the cover art on old books, manuals and such are trying to convey.  Does this one show you how to dislocate your wrist and thumb the right way? Does it show incorrect dislocations inside the covers?

The original title page and frontispiece are much better:

You could give one of them to John Cleese to use in automotive repair. In no time flat, he'd be tining for the F(j)ords...

So many alianthus leaves et al. I like it better, but you've got to wonder at the contrived pose there too. Hey, here's a book on metalcraft, so let's show you a muse in the forest, about two seconds away from smashing a ceramic vase.

Zoom Zoom Zoomity Zoom zoom. S/he's holding a paint brush. A Musing tines in Olympus. No?

Well, this first one actually followed me to work.  I won it at an auction for an amazing price.  Already sold it on marketplace.

And on Monday, this beast followed me home.  Won also at an auction.   BF51828C 1.5 Cu. Ft. chamber, 100-1100 C furnace.  Runs on 208-240, can't use it in my shop.

But it was listed as this model,  BF51748A, 0.07 Cu. Ft. chamber, runs on 110v, 100-1100 C perfect for my shop.

Oh well, I will sell it and expect to make enough to just buy the smaller furnace new.

You DIDN'T keep the robot, Lee?!:o Seriously, what boy didn't want a robot growing up?

Nice little oven, good score.

Frosty The Lucky.

No, it was just the robot arm, no controller.  No way I was going to get three phase 480v in my shop either.

The problem is, it's not the little one, I got the big one.  I forgot to add that the one I was supposed to get weighed in at 55 Lbs, but the one I got is 185.

Still would've made the coolest mailbox post on the block.

Just kidding, I had to stop looking at the HGR site, it was just too many things I didn't need and Deb would shoot me for on delivery but I kept thinking up things to do with.

Frosty The Lucky.

That was one consideration if no one wanted to pony up the asking price.  It weighs over 800 pounds so it would be a formidable mailbox post.

Okay, I gotta start thinking about something else now, I'm currently visualizing a robot arm waving at the postman, handing him/er outgoing mail, taking the incoming and waving a flag at the house. Or maybe a sign saying "You've got mail!"

Oh yeah, I need to think of something else or I'll be looking at robot arms online A G A I N!

I had to stop looking at the HGR site,

After all, those weren’t the droids you were looking for.

Speaking of books, I was in a used bookstore in Massachusetts this week (where, alas, the only item of interest to me was a book in German about Indonesian swords, but it was priced a little too high), whose slogan was “Books you don’t need, in a place you can’t find.” Thank goodness for GPS.

Oh no that's not it, I kept seeing things I'd love to do with them and the voices were hitting me from both hemispheres. The mailbox thoughts above was just one. A long armed one set up in front of the front porch with a trash can to pick up dog poops might even get Deb's approval.

You turned me on to HGR Surplus, you know there is WAY more cool stuff looking for a tinkerer.

Frosty The Lucky.

It didn't follow me home but is close.  Sadly, someone put this in the scrap metal pile at the local dump.  No one is allowed to pick from the pile anymore so it will get crushed and melted.  That is unless a clandestine raid is organized to rescue it.  Looks to be in good shape but no fire pot.image.jpeg.173ca7c9e88465f3788ecf70d1cb9d39.jpeg

Gazz goes commando!  Remember to take some goodies for the junkyard dogs!

Okay, I'm weak I logged onto HGR. Boy things have changed you don't have to log on at all now! It's easier to navigate with good filters and such. Anyway, they have a whole robot section with and without controllers from pretty tiny to let's build a battleship huge.

If you see this Scott, you'll love the site it's chock full of cool sculptural elements you can have your way with.
