ThomasPowers
Just one more heat to make bottle openers if they do not do the job already!

Scott NC
Those are nice IMHO. They could be Viking bottle openers. . I think longships had similar figureheads.
Davor
Practicing some new stile bottle openers. We had a heat wave it was no time for the forge. A storm past yesterday so it cooled up a bit.
Scott NC
Nice! Reminds me of a speckled trout.
Frosty
I like it Davor, it's very attractive. It does bring a trout to mind doesn't it? I wonder how hard it'd be to make a trout bottle opener? (forged steel, not made from a trout! <Sheesh you guys>) Frosty The Lucky.
Davor
There is a Ginko tree in my little town, we went for a walk today so I picked up some leaves. There are two styles of leaves, have no idea how to tackle the other style with just a hand hammer. That needs a lot of material to move by hand. This style not a problem. Rojo Pedro
Nice. What does the other style leaf look like?
Frosty
Nice representation of a Ginko leaf. Next time don't texture it, they are a Gymnosperm trees one of the oldest vascular plants on Earth, the veins from the stem run more tangential the length, not more perpendicular like more modern leaves. AND they're very fine so gentle bumps with an almost sharp chisel is more to scale. Frosty The Lucky.
Davor
Good idea Frosty, will do. Rojo Pedro here is a picture with both styles. Very wide and thin stem.
Goods
I usually make mine from 1/2” square bar with an inverted pyramid preform, forge down on the diamond, and draw width with the peen. Keep it fun, David
Daswulf
Upsetting the end a good bit might get you there.
Davor
Here is the the fine textured one. I tried it with a chisel and that didn't work for me, then I remembered that I have a shoe makers hammer and that did the trick. Very light hammering.
