wicon
This is a special setup: I forge with children (between 6 and 86 years) . In the car (an old Opel Astra G) Car unloaded. Jim Coke
Greetings Wicon, That is a well thought out set up . I’m sure people enjoy watching it all unfold. You have room enough on the roof rack for a portable power hammer. Forge on and make beautiful things Jim
wicon
Great idea, but that 150kg Bêché doesn' t fit in my trunk. Willy
teenylittlemetalguy
I have a soft spot for portable equipment. I have made numerous portable kits mainly for use at our club meetings. Happy to see your set up. I see it really lacks nothing. 8-) on that last photo what is the hammer with the guard?
wicon
It's not a hammer, it's a roughly forged sword made of mild steel with a knot in the blade. My statement on "I want to forge a sword." I mainly use it as a sign that I'm taking a break. Willy
teenylittlemetalguy
I am so tired of hearing about forging swords, I need one of those as well. 8-)
jlpservicesinc
Nice setup.. Grinder??? Also where did you get your apron from?
Daswulf
Awesome setup! Good job on the ppe. I noticed the sword lol. Looks like it'd be a blast hauling that anvil.
ausfire
Wow! No wonder the car is down on the springs! That anvil would be a load in itself. That's a really good set up. You have everything covered there, and the kids would really enjoy the experience. And you are helping perpetuate the craft in a positive way. (I like the idea of the sword, too!) Frosty
That's a beautiful set up, portable or in the shop. I'm tired just thinking about loading the kit. I load mine in a pickup with an engine hoist and it's a chore. Thank you for the look at your set up. Do you have any pictures of you working maybe some youngsters? Frosty The Lucky. wicon
jlpservices I rarely use the belt grinder. Most work is done with a cordless Bosch anglegrinder in one of the smaller blue boxes. The other one contains a cordless drill. The big blue box contains the ppe, the samples, some cordless led lighting and some other items to make life easier and more convenient. The aprons are from Angele. Daswulf Except for these photographs I don't haul that 45kg Peddinghaus. I only shift it from the trunk to the stump and then use the hand truck. I am lazy, I am not stupid. Ausfire No overweight, I simply leave everything unnecessary at home. Frosty For heavier equipment I use my trailer. It has a pickup crane. ThomasPowers
You Don't need the "at" symbol; a simple Frosty will work well if not better than the "at Frosty".
