tech413
Hi all, I haven't been on in a long time and I've decided to start smithing again. I have a question, looking for some advice... My girlfriend has horses and our anniversary is coming up. I have a bunch of horse shoes and I'd like to make her something, or a few something's. I made some hangers for bridles and such from shoes and she lived them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam

tech413
Thanks! I may do a heart but she's not really into hearts and things of the sort. I'm thinking some practical things... I'm going to make a hoof pick for sure but don't know what else.

Zuk33
They make really neat looking portable drink holders for camping when they are closed off and welded on a chunk of stock that can be driven into the ground.

David Einhorn
They can be made into mineral block holders for the horse stalls, that are resistant to the horses biting though them. Store-bought holders tend to be pretty flimsy and horses can bite though the flimsy ones potentially hurting themselves.

civilwarblacksmith
I recently made a horseshoe heart and put a horse head on each side of it. Door knockers, horse hoof picks, knives with carbon steel in it. Wine racks, coat hooks, book ends. Ideas are endless.
