An unusual pattern in steel

Featured Replies

In another area on this site there is a thread about common names for damascus steel patterns. So I thought I would show you this pattern. It was a result of messing about with some steel to achieve a certain pattern, but it did not work as I expected. The result is quite interesting, though. What you might call a happy mistake.

So if you were to name this pattern what would you call it.
There was a similar thread on another forum a few years ago asking the same question and some interesting ideas and names came up.

"Trees and Giraffes"? That is what I saw......Very nice pattern in my opinion.

antlers gone wild

Yes to the mangrove trees

Roots,

Can you give a little info on how you achieved that pattern? That is way cool!! :)

This it kind of odd. I think it would be an indian symbolizing the sprit, Conected to the earth and also free as a bird.

Last March of the Ents. (Yes, I'm on a bit of a Tolkein kick at the moment.)

If it were a pattern I came up with I`d call it Cernunnos (pronounced Sir-NEW-knows) ,after the Celtic horned God.

Don't have a good name, but that's a pretty design!
