  2. Yup, You hit the nail right on the head ....... The sad thing is a lot of the time I am the poor slob that has to make estimating errors work in the field ...well written and I am going to pass this along to one of our young estimators.

The worst oops gotcha I have done to myself involved a mig welder a set of railings that I was tacking together no glove and a wedding ring ....Any one that tells ya'll that gold is not a great conductor of heat and electricity is full of it. I have the second degree burns and the scar on my ring finger to prove otherwise lesson well learned.

Randy, During the winter I work for a steel service center by the name of Fay Industries .They are located in Strongsville Ohio www.fayindustries.com From working there I can tell you that 1018 cf definitely is not a problem they stock sizes from 1/8'' to 4'' as a rule. I Have cut stuff for them as large as 18'' in diameter.One nice thing about this place is they do service some areas in Pa .via truck and definitely by U.P.S MIght be worth a call to see If they might be of some help
  12. Got two Metabos that have been kicking around the shop for about 9 years .I have tried every brand from a to z and Meatobo seems to be the best bang for the buck.

  15. I had a trade school teacher 28 years ago before he would let us touch a machine tool he had us make a 123 block and the jaws for a gear puller using a file and a hacksaw. His point at the time was for us to develop a feel for the material we were using. At the time I did not get his point but to this day I can still use a file with a great degree of accuracy.Now when I pick up a file I can still hear his thick German accent saying "xxxx you guys must feel the material "
