  1. I'm only sorry that's the largest I could make the font. Kicking a habit is a huge accomplishment, especially substance abuse. Many in my family have been victims of alcoholism. I've been very aware of that all my life and have had periods when I "over did it". When I met the little lady I'm married with, we started of drinking a lot. She lived in another state and we met on-line. I'd make trips to see her and so it was, of course, a kind of celebration. Hence, I'd show up with several bottles of wine. While there, we would buy several more. Drinking became kind of "what we did". I remember one vacation we took where we ended up spending almost $800 on alcohol over a three week period. It escalates really easily when the danged stuff tastes so good! (Crown Royal Vanilla was my "drug of choice") Finally, a year ago at Christmas I decided "enough was enough" and stopped cold turkey. Not easy, but on Christmas Eve this year, I had a tiny glass of "spirited" Egg Nog. Kind of made me sick. Won't be doing that again. So you've got 7 years..............I'm just over a year with one 4 oz glass. Won't be doing that again. San Pellegrino is my order when we go out to dinner now. So I (seriously) really respect what you've accomplished.;
  2. Pnut, I don't know how I missed this thread at the first of the month. I'll give you a great big ATTABOY, for sure! It's not easy to kick a habit.........of any kind, especially drugs. Happy for you and plumb proud of you for being able to do it.
  3. I don't think so, Frosty. I've already got a buyer for the knife at $250. Don't think I'd trade it for $125 worth of wiring.
  4. No, he has to feed his family just like me. Hard to eat a new knife.
  5. God Bless you, Chellie. Give Mom a hug from all of us.
  6. Well, my electrician came out today. He said the job needed Romex 6-3 with a ground. Quoted the entire job at around $400. I cratered! He told me to buy the Romex and install it from the main box to where I wanted it to end, plus a double-gang box and he could probably do it for just under $200. 6-3 runs $125 for 50 feet, so I'd not be saving a whole lot.............but it would still be a savings. I'm just going to have to wait. The dentist told me this morning I need a $400 repair on my denture. Dang, I hate gettin' old! But gettin' poor is even worse!
  7. Been there, done that one, Thomas. It's hard, indeed.
  8. Really sorry to hear this, CGL. Hang in there. "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God."
  9. Based on the comparison of this picture and the last you posted of this boat, you did INDEED get some rain. Thank goodness. I'm glad to hear the fires are out. Are they ALL out or just the majority?
  10. CGL, so sorry to hear your Mom isn't doing her best right now. "Knee mail" being sent to try and help. God Bless you and your family.
  11. I honestly wouldn't know, Les.................never skinned anything. But very interesting to know.
  12. Beautiful job, KYCATS. Going to be some happy customers for sure.
  13. Thanks, Les. I tend to gravitate to them also. I've never dressed any game, but I've watch a couple of times and it looks as it this little knife would work for the job. Not a skinner, but I think it'd do for the rest of the job. If I were to make one for that specific purpose, I'd alter the shape of the birds head a bit. Thanks, Daswulf. pnut, I'm gettin' to the point that super small things have a hard time staying in my creaky/shaky old hands. The 1/16" pins I put in the first knife kept disappearing into the other county somewhere!
  14. Thanks for all the compliments, guys. I'm really trying to learn this knife making stuff! pnut, the mosaic pins came from Jantz. They've got such a wide selection I see no reason to try and make my own.
  15. Thanks, and thanks. Going to be my EDC, I think. I dunno, though, I've already had two offers to buy it. Sure would like to keep it, but more money coming in means equipment for the shop.
  16. My pleasure Frosty, anytime. (is there an echo in here?)
  17. Stone wheels wear down continually and you have to use the diamond bit to true them............which wears them down more. 2" belts don't wear down, they just wear out. When they dull up, just replace them. They always stay true to the wheel. I've used both and prefer the second method.
  18. I know what you mean. I got to shoot a 50 at the Whittington when I was there 3 years ago. Glad I don't wear a pace-maker. I think the recoil from that danged thing would make it stop!
  19. Okay, just so you didn't go out and buy a surface grinder without the table thinking "I'll find one somewhere someday"! I'd love to have a surface grinder. Wonderful tools. You plan on converting it to a 2" belt sander?
