  1. Your work is pleasing to the eye.
  2. Do you think the play/fit around the center pin in your bending die could have something to do with inconsistencies in your results?
  3. I think his bottom rolls are not adjustable. I was looking at your hardy jig and wondering if you could not just make something similar heavey duty and curved to the radius you need to fit in your roller without the stem and bolt to get your radius started? Late to the party idea.
  4. I got blasted once using a 220 V Huck gun riveting on a railcar. I was kneeling in a mud puddle out of necessity. Then there was the time in my pit well Doing It Myself....... Have avoided lightning bolts so far.
  5. I have learned a lot from you, but don't usually get involved, as I am learning. I guess I never showed my appreciation. Thank you for sharing. The same goes for forging and blacksmithery. So if I don't speak up and advise, I am learning. You would think there is room for all, and all kinds of knowledge.
  6. Hi Paul. I am sorry to hear about McFadden. If all else fails try contacting Hearts United for Animals. If they can't help you directly, they have tremendous resources and I'm sure will try. They are located in Nebraska. I have had dealings with them and they are great people. https://hua.org/about-us/
  7. A lame attempt at humor on a bad day. I should have avoided the internet entirely.... The day ended eventually, going off the rails in a flaming, smoke billowing trainwreck. I need a philosophical razor or method to avoid those days. This comes close: "I'd simplify that to, learning to smell it, before you step in it, and track it into places it doesn't belong." -Rockstar-
  8. Just curious. I have a shy friend that follows what I do on here and was wondering as well.
  9. If I had a therapist I bet one would agree.....
  10. You can ride your motorcycle over those busted up roads, not?
  11. I thought twice about my reply and you are right so I edited it. Thanks.
  12. Nice project, M.J. Will you make a you tube video of you playing it when done? I'm forwading this to a woodworker friend of mine. Wood is more forgiving when it comes to "square", just "lean" on it one way or the other...
  13. I gave up a "proper workshop" to move a thousand miles for someone I care about and now I work in a rut strewn gravel driveway. I wonder what's worse, just starting out with nowhere to work, or losing the greatest shop and having nowhere to work?
  14. Well, I hit paydirt this morning. I finally stopped at a scrapyard I have been driving by and eyeballing for some time and asked if they sell. I instantly hit it off with the first guy I met walking in. It's a kind of strange place, no "office", just a scalehouse and some outbuildings but the place is huge. Several acres of junk cars and old construction equipment, etc.... and a larger area of general junk. The yard workers converted an old ballast tamping machine into a break area, shade umbrellas, coffee maker. It never hurt's to ask... I'm going to go back and take some pictures, the place is odd. I brought home a few token buys, but I really wasn't prepared for the assortment of stuff they had. I need a truck. It is only a few miles away, too. It doesn't replace the old railcar wreck site I used to haunt back home though... yet.
  15. Unfortunately.... I read this one on the internet: Bobby's Greater Earth Dragon Flaming Tectonic Kick Magnum Razor: Just because someone thought of something and posted it on the internet somewhere doesn't make it a "thing".
  16. Welcome. You never know what you get with junk. There are a lot of topics and advise on that on this forum as well. You may have to scroll down on that page.
  17. I'll buy that.... I was speaking tongue in cheek, for the most part there. I should be a bit more careful of throwing out statements like that in the future. Generally speaking, I believe everybody has a purpose.
  18. I'm waiting for NC to slide off into the Atlantic. What is the absolute worst thing about living there that causes you to say that?
  19. I agree with most of what you say. I posted that comment because I am always trying to understand where people are coming from and what causes some to fly in the face of logic. From those that get enraged and start foaming at the mouth to those that just clam up and withdraw. Most of the time strong reactions come from subjects and topics we are not allowed to talk about here. Or the unknown. I don't have any education or background in philosophy so I am learning as I go. As usual. I would go on, but I must tread lightly, lest I get shaved by Feynman’s Razor..... Btw, Boolean logic is too much for me unless I can use it to control a servo. But I get your point. I know people that have not a creative, crafty bone in their bodies and wonder what motivates them to get out of bed... Edit. I posted this after rockstars comment....
  20. I knew I'd seen that nice, handmade leather apron somewhere before.... Looks like fun!
  21. Aric, I just wanted to say congratulations. It's great seeing someones talent and hard work reward them.
  22. Sorry to hear of this Onetreeforge. Generators are good things. I hope you are coping well. Until Yellowstone caldera blows....
