  1. Unbelievable,, I see people advertising , "wanting to buy anvils" , just to hike them up and unload on the unsuspecting . Makes you want to follow with your own ad with links to say JHM and others with price differences,, Im on the verge of doing so.,
  2. After filling , do not store where it may freeze
  3. I have one attached to the round baler, unscrew the top, fill to line with water , screw back on, add air
  4. Consider placement of woodstove near an outside access point ( window or door ) hauling wood deep inside a room is a real pain and dirty
  5. How about welding a hardie shank on the thick piece of steel to lay over the top, may have to dress it up first,, then can be used for lighter stuff maybe , if thick enough drill some holes for scrolling/ bending pins, and maybe even for striking
  6. moving it in a bit closer to the stump might solve having to keep picking up falling hammers that had jiggled out, spaced out just enough to slide in the handle might work better
  7. Is that Canadian amount,, reads $ 275.00 to me , but im not familiar with Canadian currency,, 275 @ approx. 5# = $55.00 per pound,, that's alot
  8. This must be made of gold. 126 lb anvil - $1200 Craigslist link removed

  13. ok thx,, that was my intended purpose for it,,
  14. Yeah, I looked Disston up, I have a few of the older saws,, saw the hammer , just not it's stated purpose,,,thx
  15. Bent a WI rod around top of legs for a handle. Added a lower shelf. Made up a swivel tray for vise stand also to use on the anvil stand. Threw together a little misc. holder to keep stuff off the vise table.
  16. First a cross peen Fuller hammer ? To be struck with brass or wood hammer ? Second no identifying marks,,does not look like a flaring tool .. possible small rod bender ?
  17. How about a fork ( V ) in the end for more definition
  18. ok thx,, I must of overlooked the forging temp difference in the half dozen WI articles I read in the Pages section.. Im guessing WI should be hotter ? I used one round bar to make a handle to roll the forge around,, was a bit stiff when not orange heat
  19. Ok thx,,pull this out the weeds some 30+ years ago, been using it as a trough feeding square bales. Gonna haul up to the shop test the round rods. Was wrought made into angle iron too?
