I will steal frostys thunder and say if you add your general location you may be surprised how many local smiths there are in your area!

  13. Some s hooks out of 5160 would probably take some abuse, but I think I will save my carbon steels for tools and the like though.

  17. I bolted mine down with lag bolts and a peice of flat bar drill holes just out side of the feet and it's pretty quiet makes a bit of noise when you work the horn but it's pretty quiet just a thud most of the time unless your getting cold

  19. i normalized after forging, then heated to a low orange and quenched in slightly warm veggie oil, tempered at 375 for about and hour
